    Cancelled after 16 rebills

Just FYI Verotel seems as though it automatically cancels a member after 16 rebills as a security measure to ensure its not a forgotten membership.

One of my customers lost his access today and was annoyed with us that he was not sent any notification. After checking I found he'd been with us that length of time and it was auto cancelled.

As for this member... yep he signed straight back up again when I told him, though he thought it was a little heavy handed to cancel without notice!

Have you guys run accross this and is this a good feature or bad in your opinion?

Did you call Verotel and they told you memberships auto cancel after 16 weeks?

If so, it's a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad feature, but the fact their processing fee is so much lower then CCBill keeps me with them, even if they do auto cancel after 16 rebills.

NO ccbill doesn't appear to do it, I have some rebills that are running 23 months. Epoch doesn't appear to do it either since I have some AVS members who are still with me since the first year I started my site, and that was almost four years ago.

That is crazy! Why assume that the customer doesn't read their statements each month from their credit card company.

I would think it is wiser to assume that it is a satisfied customer who is enjoying the site!

I may be wrong, but I think you can set CCBill to cancel after a set amount of rebills if you want that but its not automatic. It is a bad feature but I guess they are trying to protect themselves and you. They should at least email the member and explain what they doing, maybe include an option to override the cancellation.

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

That makes no sense to me whatsoever, i have a whole slew of members that have kept rebilling and logging in to the Condom Cash sites for nearly 2 years now, id have lost thousands of dollars in sales if CCBill did that.

    I was with Verotel

I was with Verotel's Tickets Club program.

Honestly, I don't believe they are not the most accepting to gay porn sites.

I left Verotel because they demanded 2257 information. As a processor you cannot demand that.

One of my business partners was with Verotel as well. They terminated him as a processor because he had 6 chargebacks in a 2 year period and he had 1 customer complaint because of something really stupid.

Verotel really isn't the best. I suggest Epoch as a primary and another as a secondary. And I highly do not suggest using CCBill. In my book I don't believe they are all that.

Wow we live in two completely different worlds!

I have 3 gay sites with Verotel and have had charge backs over the years, no problem AND my rep at verotel is openly Gay and has handled any problems I've had over the years with ease

I've never been asked for 2257 info and Verotel has gone above and beyond with me on a number of occasions. Not to mention I pay a fraction in processor fees that I would with others

My startup rep was openly gay. Hell he even asked me what all was in the development. I openly told him, he said wow man, I'll have to check it out after its up.

It wasn't my rep that asked for it. It was this guy in their Risk Management department. He was just weird and shit.
For the record, I never had a DMCA Copyright INfringement notice or anything. I dont get down like that stealing shit, I dont want my content stolen so why would i do it to someone else.

Anyways, they just had concerns on the number of sites I was starting and the amount of content that was up.

    FYI... I'm an AEN System.

ALSO FOR THE RECORD... I'm sorry, I didn't read the initial posting correctly. It's my bad - First Thing in the morning. Forgive me :fugly:

Ok found out the real reason..... His card was declined on the rebill.

    Problem solved

    :donmike:

BTW I have been with Verotel since 2003 and have always been happy with their service and support. The above just threw me for a second as it was actually the second time it had happened. Funnily enough BOTH times at 16 weeks. Since checking now accross all sites I see memberships have gone on longer without issue.

    my bad :borg:
