Link Lists - Do they work?

I have been promoting some sites on link lists... like GayWhosWho.com, Smaq.com, etc.

I have a traffic tracker program with my hosting account that I can check where all of my hits are coming from, they give me precise answers, etc.

Out of 16 link trade sites within the past 9 months, I've only received 11 hits. I have several sites with them. They appear to be from me because the dates were when I first got with them. So I went looking a little deeper into the stats, so I went onto the link sites to find a link to me. I found it. Clicked on the link, went straight to me.

So my question leads into: Do Link Lists & Trades Really Work???

well then biased on your hits i would say probably not , but it may help your google ranking and as long as you dont have to pay for the link i would say keep it up there

I guess what I'm asking here is what link lists work that someone has seen?

I have an affiliate program. There are 6 affiliates who are doing awesome and are getting paid about $1400 a month...

But, I know some link trades work, some dont. So I didn't know if I could get feedback.

    Thanks :-)

what are linking up - a site for surfers or a site for webmasters?

i have found link lists very useful in both cases, but tend to mostly get my webmaster hits from places like ynotmasters and pornresource. they don't send TONS of hits, but they do send a good, steady amount.

as far as traffic for surfers, yes, link lists work. they send a big burst of hits the first month, then a smaller but steady amount forever.

btw, what is the page your affiliates actually send their hits to on your tour?

I did some further searching into link lists the past couple hours.... Some use their own tracking methods. They don't direct link. So I clicked around on a few, and then checked my stats. Nothing. So maybe they are sending traffic and my system isn't showing it.

When webmasters are using the links provided by Epoch, they take them to the main index page of the site.

Yes, they work, but it depends on your goal and your methods.

If you are doing this for SEO, you should be demanding hard link trades (not through a traffic management script). If you are doing this for traffic, you should be submitting free sites to them at least 1 per day, then you will see your traffic jump.

By the way, its best to use campaigns when trying to track your traffic. If you are not getting a direct hard link, then ask the linklist owners to update their links with a campaign code embedded.

Just joined sebastianbucks looking forward to promoting a 50/50 sponsor. But may I ask where is the promo material? I seen a few banners but they were not clickable, (IMO).:beauty:

SouthernExposur, We are actually re-working on SebastianBucks.com as we speak.

We are putting together downloadable zipped content containing images, FHG's, and more. The new SebastianBucks.com should be completed by the end of the week should everything work smoothly.

The banners are not clickable. Right click, and save them.
Also, I have more banners in the making so that you have a bigger selection.
In the past we haven't been accepting Visa. Now we are.

I'm sorry if this caused an inconvenience.

    Answering Chilihost now, .........

I have membership sites, thats been my main priority of Promotion.
So are you saying if I submit free sites 1 per day, I will get a higher return?

I'm sure I sound stupid as hell here! I'm still learning stuff that I thought I knew when I jumped into this stuff. Before I was just producing, then thought well wtf why dont I just make a website with my content and turn it into a membership site.

Also, what are the best Link Trade Sites?

Yes, most linklists will accept one new site per day and its usually the "new" sites that are just listed that get the most clicks. Try to vary the niche for better acceptance and also try to make the freesites look a bit different every time.

Knowing your programs, I say get these webmaster tools up and running. Then your affiliates will be promoting your sites on link lists, TGP's, blogs, etc to bring you traffic and sales.

i'd say improve the tours first. then you'll get a higher return when you start listing free sites every day.
