I was just going to upload a promo vid to XTube to promote one of my membership sites and when I clicked on upload, I got this message:

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Dear Webmaster,

Per most users' requests, XTube decide not to accept new webmaster videos/photos upload. We appreciate for your understanding and thanks for your support in the past.

On their front page it specifically states:


Tomorrow we are forbidding all webmaster videos from the site and then we are going to create the following new accounts:
Approved Sponsor
Approved Affiliate
Webmaster account will no longer be used and will be turned off February 1st

Thought I might mention.... There is another source that you can promote sites that do convert... It's EvideoShare.com I found that it converts also, sometimes even better than XTube. Just thought I'd share it.

It's clear that we should have explained this move before doing it but no matter what the reaction would have been the same. We are stopping webmaster uploads as a part of a new anti piracy campaign.

Due to webmasters/website owners not realizing that they need a webmaster account with linking code and sponsor information as well as public users that don't how to read we have decided to stop webmaster uploads and ask out members to use the content filter and filter out the commercial content and rake the site for and professional content that can be found. We realize that this seems unfair but we would like to give our "Tube" sites a new reputation. Unfortunately this new step forward is going to effect some in a negative manner ei, Webmaster will not be able to post new videos and collect referral income on them only older ones for the time being. Once again they are only suspended until we can make the necessary changes to better the site for all accounts.

I seen that.
I spoke to someone at XTube regarding this matter. They said that everything is so comercialized. Unless you own the video, it's amateur - homemade we will allow it.
If it's not amateur we will not allow it.

I've found these sources useful:
PornoTube.com - owned by AEBN
EvideoShare.com - An International Video Share
Rude.com - eh, it's okay. Doesn't convert as much as well as the above 2.

IF the video does not include sexual acts but maybe shirtless making out, doesn't show any private areas, YouTube.com is good. But you have to be really careful on how you word it or else they'll reject you.
What we've done is made a non-adult website, I cant think of it off hand. And the video will link to I dunno... XYZ.com, then XYZ.com will re-route them to our sites.

I understand why XTube is doing this, they don't want to be sued. But they've just been very rude to us and a couple others I know. Especially Lance. So this doesn't really bother us TOO MUCH. But still, XTube vids convert.

You do have to be careful on YouTube and they aren't consistent in what they approve or decline.

The funny thing is that I just watched that video and when I saw the tattoo I thought to myself, "What the hell is that?" and at that very moment the screen said, "Australia" and I went, "oh, thank you". LOL!

My videos are still playing on Xtube, but I am blocked from adding new ones.

The interesting thing is, I just checked my views and since the "no webmaster rule" went into effect, the views to my videos really shot up!

It either proves that customers really like the professional videos or by eliminating some competition, customers started digging deeper into the archive.

I told Lance Cassidy at XTube that only we (the administrators) can post onto XTube. We do not want our webmasters posting on XTube to promote us because I have an in-house counsel that searches video sharing blogs bi-daily to search for content theft of our exclusive content. Therefore, if my XTube screen name were not on the posting of the video - XTube would receive a DMCA Infringement notification.
