Why wouldn't jpg images show on server?

I am having an issue, and its probably a totally blond moment, but so be it. I have created several PSD's, sliced them, then uploaded them. When I upload them to a GoDaddy server, they don't show up at all, when I upload them to my own dedicated server, the same files show up fine. I am perplexed, as I have to use GoDaddy for these, but they are being of no help.

Even jpg images that I resize in photoshop will not show up on GoDaddy, has anyone had this happen before? Anyone know the solution?

Could it be upper/lower case file extensions maybe?

I tried that. I called and they didn't know why, like when you go to view image where the image is supposed to be, it just shows the URL in the browser window. If the image isn't on the server, it says file not found, so the image is there.

I also played with the permissions. I re-cut the PSD into .gif, and that shows up fine.

    I don't get it.

do you have hot linking prevention in your htaccess file? if the godaddy is drawing images from your server, your server could be blocking it ... hey you said it could be a blond moment :innocent:

if the images are uploaded to the godaddy server, are they linked in short form or long? long being the full url to the images.. such as http://godaddy.com/file/image.jog ? that usually works when the shortened version don't /file/image.jog

I tried it both ways, neither works, directly brining up the image won't work either, like if I go to http://www.domain.com/images/image.jpg it doesn't say file not found, it just shows that same URL in the browser window, Its freaky.

Sounds like the ftp program in not uploading all the data correctly to GoDaddy.

Upload then download the file from GoDaddy to a different directory on your computer and see what the image shows. If there is no image you have your answer and if there is an image you have your answer --- it is either the ftp program or the server.

Not the FTP program, I uploaded using GoDaddy's FTP on their site, same thing.

I did just upload it, then download it to a different folder on my computer, I can view it fine, so the file is there, the html file points correctly, the image just will not load.

    Here is what I get:
    http://www.berkeleyphotos.net/header.jpg
That is a uploaded file that is valid, see how it just shows the URL.

Then when you go to a file that doesn't exist:
    http://www.berkeleyphotos.net/header.JPG
    It says file not found.

GoDaddy insists that this issue is on my side, not theirs.

I am guessing, but the file extension is capitalized on your second url, when I change it to lowercase I get the URL as in the first one, so perhaps there are added syntax errors that are preventing the image from showing? a space, underscore or something?

On this page... http://www.berkeleyphotos.net/ your images are pointing to an images folder... http://www.berkeleyphotos.net/images/header_02.jpg

Are you sure that your images are not in another folder?

When I went to http://www.berkeleyphotos.net/header.jpg with firefox I dont even get the broken image, but a url of it.

Is it possibile there is something going on with your .htaccess and MIME types?

That is where the images are, I just uploaded a header.jpg to show on the base directory that they are not showing up anywhere.

There aren't spaces or anything, and I showed the .JPG to show what happens when the file doesn't exist.

What is MIME? Its only with GoDaddy that I am having this issue, when I upload it to my dedicated server with HostHead, just as the files are, everything shows up just fine

On GoDaddy, I have uploaded to 4 different virtual accounts, and they all have the same problem.

Another thing that I would check is "ownership permissions" set on the file. Not the file permissions, but ownership, example username.

MIME type tell the server how to deal with the files:
