CONSERVATIVE BUSH FEDERAL JUDICIAL APPOINTEE GETS ARRESTED FOR DUI WEARING BLACK COCKTAIL DRESS, HEELS AND FISHNET HOSE

BOSTON - A federal bankruptcy judge was arrested for driving drunk last week, but perhaps the most shocking part about the ordeal was that he was wearing women's clothing at the time.

Robert Somma, 63, was arrested on Feb. 6 after his Mercedes-Benz hit a pickup truck on a Massachusetts road. When authorities removed him from the vehicle, they said he wore a black women's cocktail dress, fishnet stockings and high heels.

Wednesday, Somma struck a plea deal with prosecutors in which he pleaded 'no contest' to a misdemeanor DUI charge and agreed to pay roughly $600 in penalties. He also agreed to a 12-month suspension of his judicial license.

The arresting officer did not mention the judge's unusual attire in the arrest report, but did write that Somma "had a difficult time locating his license in his purse."

Somma reportedly failed a sobriety test following his arrest, which was located near the town of Manchester. Officials believe the judge drove from Boston because his wife was out-of-town and no one in Manchester knew who he was.

Friday, Somma resigned from his post as a judge effective April 1.

Somma was appointed a First Circuit Court bankruptcy judge in 2004. Officials of the court said Somma is a judge in good standing and has no history of problems. source

You can see a trace of eye shadow in that pic! HAHA! I know he wasn't an elected official but he gets third place in the Gay Republican Hall of Shame for the past year... just after Larry Craig and Mark Foley since he was a Bush court appointment.

Robert Somma, the poor humiliated Bush-appointed bankruptcy judge who was recently arrested in a cocktail dress, fishnets, and stylish pumps after crashing his Mercedes into a pickup while allegedly drunk, announced this weekend that he would resign from his post.

He held his position on Boston’s First Federal Circuit for three wonderful years. Gary Wenta, a circuit executive for the First Circuit, said “He was serving a 14-year appointment. This will leave him without a pension.”

The tragically pensionless judge will probably just have to go back to lawyering in order to bring home whatever six-figure pittance he can. On the plus side, private practices tend to have a less stringent dress code.

Unless you're from Maryland, you probably never heard of anti-child porn crusader Robert McKee, a long-time right-wing member of the House of Delegates from rural Washington County in the western part of the state. According to today's Washington Post, McKee, one of the Maryland leaders of the Romney for President campaign, has abruptly resigned today. Easy to guess that McKee, who also resigned as Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters, is a child porn fiend.

Law enforcement authorities, both the FBI and county sheriff's office, who are conducting a child pornography investigation, seized two computers, videotapes and printed materials when they searched the Republican's home in Hagerstown 2 weeks ago.

Probably just a missed fact, but judges don't have a "judicial license". They are lawyers who hold a law license and are members of the Bar of one or more states, and the law license can be suspended, but not by another judge. Law licenses are suspended by the Bar Association or the Supreme Court of the State in which they are licensed. That is a separate proceeding apart from criminal prosecution.

In my own drunk driving conviction, I was sentenced to 7 days in jail, a $1500 fine, drivers license revoked for a year, and 2 years probation that was eventually shortened to 9 months. After pleading guilty, then the State Bar reprimanded me for conduct unbecoming or something like that. My law license was never suspended.

BTW -- Friday the 22nd this week is my 9 Year Sobriety Anniversary!! 9 years sober! Not one drink since that arrest!
