You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

Naming Images - What Do You Do?

I was wondering how those of you that still build tgp galleries and free sites handled your image names.

Do you keep a generic list of image names for things like the thumbs, full sized pics and any additional graphics on your pages or do you create the image calls based on keywords for the images themselves?

For example, thumb1.jpg, thumb2.jpg, etc or do you use names like gay.jpg, porn.jpg, etc instead?

Do you find one method easier or better than the other?

    Regards,

    Lee

Our image names all have the unique set number and image number (example 257-103.jpg) which is self-referential back to our 2257 records. That way, even if someone swipes our images or an affiliate uses them on his own gallery, we still have a reference to the records for that content.

Of course, we lose the opportunity to use names that are SEO friendly, but frankly, we would rather make it easier on ourselves as far as recordkeeping. What we should do (but haven't) is take the images that make up the background of the page for the TGP and make them more SEO friendly.
