I Wonder? VERY IMPORTANT! Please Help

I have been told by a few very successful people in the adult industry that my site just doesn't cut it. I have spent a ton of money in the past and thought it was, so please tell me your thoughts on my site so that I can give customers a really good buck for the money!

    The site is http://www.badboysfilms.com/

Are you looking for basic design advice? Because giving your members "bang for the buck" is more about the quantity and quality of your content. However, a nice design will help you gain more members.

First thing... dump the javascript warning. It is annoying and alarming to have a warning flash in your face when you first enter the site. If you want to have some kind of warning, a simple enter page would be much better.

Second... completely change your color sceme. Red on orange is (no offense) very hard on the eyes. If you are unsure about your color scheme, lean to the conservative side. You have to be a really excellent designer to be able to make such bold colors work.

Third... use some nice big images on the first page of your tour. The tiny video player a surfer first sees is quite underwhelming. It doesn't make them want to continue on with the tour. Big bold images will let the surfer know immediately what your site is about.

Forth... change your menu and site navigation. Your first page should be your "home" page and it's not. Your navigation doesn't make it obvious where I should look to find more content to look at. Move all the unnecessary links somewhere less prominent. Surfers don't want to see "webmaster", "submit a link", "links", "help", etc. They just want to see hot guys. Look at some other good sites and see how they arrange their content on their tours.

Fifth, show some dick on your tour. Does BadPuppy still not allow that? Really they should change that VERY silly rule. After all, this is porn and how can you expect to sell memberships without some nudity?! It's like trying to jack off with both hands tied behind your back. Anyways, don't censor your images by pasting stars over the good bits. Instead just use lots of underwear/jock and erotic shots that hint at some dick.

Sixth... define your niche. It looks like your site is solo jack off site. Is it true amateurs, twinks, older guys... all of the above? Let your surfers know what makes your site different and better than other sites.

The only thing I would add is to get a professional design done by a company like bluedesignstudios or dickmans designs. It will make the whole process a lot easier and you'll have a higher end polished look. Also it seems some basic website concepts are not well understood and a professional design company will take care of everything in detail.

What Jim said is right on the money. I believe badpuppy does allow dick now. But the color scheme and that text is dang near impossible to read. At least use a serif font to make it somewhat easy to read.

A good design firm will give some hierarchy to that page. That page really has no hierarchy and badly needs it.

I have 3 badpuppy sites and am pretty sure they do not allow dick on the tours. I have found that not too many affiliates want to promote bp feature contributors because the lack of promo materials available. Few banners just does not cut it. For example, I run a tgp network and need fhg's. I don't think a single feat. cont. offers fhg's.

    Hope this helps.

I agree with Squirt. It looks like you tried to create a fluid CSS design using tables. If your going to use the brown border around the red center, you should put it around the top too. It looks like it got chopped off.

badboysfilms, your videos aren't in proportion and i'm with them on the colors. also your logo doesn't stand out and the way your text is laid out all in one big clump under the small video box isn't adding to the site at all.

also i wouldn't have a dropdown for the videos - i'd have one video on each of several pages, so that each page gives a separate chance to make surfers want to join. and i'd go for the best lit vids you have - after all, this is your chance to make sales.

i can't see how you spent a ton of money on this site - i'm not trying to be mean, but you should be able to get some light consulting AND a full design for around $500. i know because i've personally brought it in for that little for clients a few times.

if you are serious about your site - and with all due respect to lisa and the bad puppy crew, who run a great program - you need to run your own billing and affiliate program. if you can't do ccbill or epoch, even verotel is a step up. that way, you can get 50% of all affiliate sales after processing and your affiliates get a full 50%.

and with your own processor, you can show dick, which is always good for sales

    Hi All;
Many of you have given Badboysfilms some good advice, I'm glad I made him aware of the better boards and he's made his way here. He will benefit greatly here from all of you your experience, advice, idea sharing and over all words of wisdom.

Abostonboy is right, we did lighten up on the no x rated rule we once had, back a couple of months ago or so. We now allow x rated, as long as it's fairly softcore, such as really anything except oral or anal penetration and no cum shots, otherwise, we're ok with it.

Chubbs, I'm sorry you were not aware of that. You are certainly allowed to re-visit your tour and revamp to include some x rated content. The same holds true for the Badboysfilms website.

As for the hosted galleries for the network sites that are a part of PuppyCash, Badpuppy is moving over to Nats hopefully sometime in April and once that transition is complete, we are looking at the ability to provide hosted galleries for those sites who want to provide us with the content to create for an added promotional tool for those promoting the network websites at PuppyCash.

Thanks for your kind words basschick, they mean a great deal to both myself and all here at Badpuppy. Just so you understand, if it were possible for us to provide what we provide the websites that are a part of our network, a means to use their own processor and affiliate program, we certainly would. Because the business model we have involves the membership through those sites utilizing our merchant accounts and other billing solutions, there is no way to do it. These sites are selling a joint membership to their websites, which includes access to Badpuppy and the entire network. There member areas are protected by our firewall.

The reason that most people come to us to host their websites is that the value of all a new member joining gets by joining is tremendous, adding to their ability to convert memberships. The hosted sites make 70% of every sale, as well as rebill and don't have to pay for a merchant account or any of their fees, they receive unlimited webspace and bandwidth, their members get 24/7 customer and technical support and we help in any way we can to assist in marketing their sites on our main pages, tour, guest area, other properties we own and even in print at times.

For those who choose to be a part of PuppyCash, they make 20% on all membership sales sent by affiliates, as well as 20% on rebills, the affiliate makes 60% rev share or $30.00 PPS, which ever they choose to promote with and Badpuppy gets the remaining 20%, or even far less on PPS sales through affiliates. This is equal to or not far off from what they'd make using their own processor and affiliate program, after you figure that they give 50% of each sale to the affiliate, pay 12 to 15% processing fees, not including rolling reserve, transaction fees, fees for credits and chargebacks, etc.... They might be able to pocket an extra 15%, just on the affiliate sales, but what are they paying for hosting and bandwidth, etc...

We do all that we can for our hosted sites here on our network and go out of our way to help them with marketing, marketing ideas and advice, just as we do with our affiliates. Lets face it, if you or they don't make money, we don't either! So it's in our best interest, as well as yours to do all we can to help in any way we can.

In Badboysfilms case, they need traffic, traffic other than what we are providing them. Other than our traffic, there is not much more going to them. So I know he would really benefit from any traffic ideas you all would care to provide him. I've provided him with a variety of link lists, directories and other sites to get listed on, as well as a couple of low cost paid advertising ideas to consider and anything additional you can suggest, or even help him with directly, both he and we would be greatly appreciated.

For those of you who would like to promote Badboysfilms, or Chubbs sites who are already PuppyCash affiliates, simply login to your account at PuppyCash for both the 60% revshare and the $30.00 PPS to choose from and their banners are right there, linked under the linking information.

If you'd like to promote their site and are not a PuppyCash affiliate, just sign up at PuppyCash.com and you can login and obtain their linking information inside the Webmaster Lounge, or use the same links above and insert your newly selected user id.

Again thanks for all of the help and recommendations you've provided Badboysfilms, as well as a big thanks for giving me the opportunity to better explain our business model with the hosted network websites and the affiliate program.

Hope to see you all in Phoenix next month!

For traffic I would recommend buying bid spots at .05 per click on MOTN. See how the site converts.

If the content is original, they could hit some bloggers up. However, a re-design would need to be in order for that imho.

Actually starting his own blog may not be a bad idea and get some Google traffic.
