Is There A Way to CHMOD Files As They Are Uploaded?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to set file permissions on the server as the files were being uploaded?

I have a bunch of directories and files, that all need to have the same permissions set to them and rather than doing it after upload, i was hoping there was a way to set the permissions during the upload, to speed things up.

Does anyone know if this is possible to do?

good question - it made me wonder.

i believe that you can do this in flash fxp using commands, but i haven't tried it.

I think SmartFTP will let you change all the files in one directory once uploaded. It's been a while since I tried this.

Aren't these sever spec. settings and that's why you can change the permissions only after the upload?
But if there is a way about what your are looking for Lee, then I am very curious to know.
