    Gay DVD Download Sites

    I could be wrong, but it appears to me that in the straight porn world DVD download sites are the big thing. I am not aware of any gay versions of sites like this... are there any?

    And as I understand it, a "DVD download" site lets you download a movie to burn to your own DVD that plays as good as a store bought copy. But correct me if I'm wrong about that.

    The only site that I know of that allows you to burn the video onto DVD is the AEBN theatres.

    There are DVD sites out there. I don't quite know how well they do, but I'm sure they do well.

    However, there is a DVD Rental site where you actually rent the DVDs like Netflix. It's BoyToyDVD. We do very well promoting them as well as a studio with them. They have an aff program at DVDDollars.com

    derekt, the stuff you're talking about is pay per view, but it's not downloadable DVDs. vivid and a couple other companies offer actual DVD downloads. you download a huge file and when you burn it via their directions, you get a DVD with fully functional menus as well as videos that are the same quality as if you had bought it at a video store. the download also includes the cover art and disk art for those who want the whole thing.

    i'd LOVE to do this, but i'm not sure about the technology. imo this is a wonderful way to sell DVDs without inventory or postage costs and will sell to those who are too impatient to wait for their orders to arrive.

    I'm sorry.

    We were going to venture into download to own, but after seriously considering the idea, it would be too much for us to handle with 7 studios, membership sites, etc. so we left the idea out. However, we did develop the layout, etc. but never went further.

    Basschik: yes, your description is the kind of site I was referring to. Just wondering if any gay studios are into this yet.

    Derek: thanks for that boytoydvd link... it reminded me of another question I had about why the major studios aren't represented in services like this. I think I'll start a separate thread about that.
