Does anybody know how to get Colt to pay their bills??

The replication company we use to do all of our titles, has just told me that the mighty Colt Studios is unable to pay the 21,000+ dollars they owe for replicating several titles for them, past due over 800 days!!! This is staggering to me because they are supposed to be one of the big boys, and they're screwing over the sweetest lady that was kind enough to give them terms to begin with promising her every time they speak, money, and have NEVER sent her a dime!!!!! Can anyone please help me help her get this money????

She's a very small entity and does not have the funds to go up against a company like Colt. She's a very nice person who's just getting screwed over. By the time this gets resolved, the entire amount will be eaten up in legal expenses. The name of the company is Lucky Video, located in Chatsworth California. Her name is Sue, she's by far one of the nicest people I've even done business with, and I feel horrible for her because this is not right by any stretch of ethical business practice!! She just flat go taken. They (Colt) even go so far as every time they talk, they tell her they'll send her something and just flat don't do it! If there's anybody that can help her, please do!!

Sue did my work for my DVD's and all I can say is yes, she is a great person. She allowed us the option of paying over time rather than all up front, but I decided to just pay with my credit card up front to make sure she got her money. (Which I am still paying off little by little.)

If this is true about COLT, it would really piss me off.

I would suggest she get a lawyer as well...or sell the debt to some collection agency to at least get her cost or supplies back, etc.

I agree, she is an absolute doll. All of the jobs are done on time and correct. This morning she gets a call from Colt, telling her to get these posts removed and then they'll talk about getting a payment plan. How in the hell can this guy tell her this?? Because for some reason he intimidates her. She has now turned this over to me to take care of and for the record, until she has a handful of checks, or 1 check, I'm not going to let up on this!! This is NOT going away!!!! 4 years of promises and excuses from a millionaire?? Pure BS! They just got caught by someone that cares about her, and will NOT stop pushing this until they pay her. They owe her, and they're going to pay her in full, or I swear on all that's holy, I will post everywhere and anywhere as to the TRUE business dealing of the mighty Colt Studios!!! Tomorrow I am going to be posting the actual invoices showing everything written to be absolutely true if I have to. She is a very small business, and cannot retain a lawyer, which is why she hasn't just sued them. They're just playing hardball, refusing to pay a wonderful person, who was kind enough to give them net terms to begin with. How about the next award Colt wins, they at least thank Sue at Lucky for making it possible for them to afford to shoot such high budget films?? You guys may intimidate a lady, but I'm not so easily pushed around...You owe her...period!! PAY HER!! DO THE RIGHT THING!!!!!

There are unfortunately a lot of people in this industry (and I guess others as well) that don't seem to care about paying their bills, and it's really nice that you're taking this on, Rob. I wish you the best of luck.

Thank you Chip. They are very aware of the post, as they rudely called her this morning telling her that they'll make sure that nobody will ever do business with her again if she doesn't have the post removed. These are seemingly just bullies, which I have made a lifetime of standing up to for people that cannot defend themselves. I don't like bullies, never have and never will.

Hi Everybody,

I am happy to announce that Colt studios has now paid this debt in full, and no longer owes anything to Lucky Video. I'd like to thank all that was kind enough to offer real help in the matter with good advise. She wasn't able to afford the 33% that a formal collection company was wanting to charge her, as well, for whomever has not been in LA, the cost to retain a lawyer there is very, very high. In most cases, and I mean 99%, she would have been required to put up a large retainer, thus eating up whatever money she would have made, still losing money. No one should have to go through what she went through to get paid, but sometimes in this business, people seem to overlook the fact that not everybody is raking in millions. Some of the people in this business are very nice, truly good people that are just trying to do a job and get paid for it. I personally have been the victim of big business people just plainly screwing me over with empty promises and then turning their back on me in a day, leaving me and my family out to hang. I felt badly for this girl, and just wanted to help her.Karma is a truth of life and reality folks. If you do enough good things for people, and never ask for anything in return, good things can and will happen to those people. I am blessed with a great company, wonderful friends, and an unbelievable home life. The reason for this I believe, is because I do get "Nuts" when somebody picks on somebody weaker than them just for the sake of doing so. If more people were willing to help other people, rather than mock them, maybe today's generation wouldn't be so fucked up in the head. Allot of this post was geared to another board that a couple of people, for some reason decided that it would be better, or funner, or whatever, to start a mini bash on me, which i feel was uncalled for, but whatever. I do want to make it clear that everybody HERE on GWW has been both helpful, as well kind and genuine in their responses and I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for this. I just felt that this post explains everything in one shot rather that dragging this out any longer. The bottom line is I was just trying to help a friend and business associate get paid money that was unbelievably long past due. My mission has been accomplished, and I think it's fair to say that you all help make this happen, therefore thank you all very much!!

It's really nice to see that a positive resolution came out of this, and happened so quickly. It's just unfortunate that someone would need to resort to "going public" in order to get payment; it never ceases to amaze me how companies -- and not just in the adult biz -- will stonewall forever when they think they can get away with it, and then a little public scrutiny and the problem magically goes away. Hopefully everyone is happy with the resolution.

We are lucky enough to have great relationships and timely payment with all of our current customers, including our billers, our VOD providers, Marina Pacific, and the other companies who buy our products either physically or electronically, but we do have one or two companies that we previously did business with who owe us a pretty tidy sum ($10,000+)... perhaps I'll have to follow your lead if I'm unable to convince them to pay up
