Do You Actually Know 'Pornstar' Names If...

Yesterday Gary and I were at a party and the subject of gay pornstars came up and i realized that im actually not very good with putting names to faces, there are a few i know but other than that, its just another hot guy to me and their names really dont have any meaning to me.

Does anyone else here not know pornstar names but can recognize them easily?

So many names, so many faces!!!

On top of that are the models that change names when they change studios, or have a different name for video work than live dancing work.

So one model can have multiple names.

I can recognize 5 maybe 10 and put the name to the face.

I mean, I can name off all the guys I saw when I was a teenager jacking off to porn... Leo Ford, Chad Douglas, Casey Donovan, Rick Hammond, Dean Phoenix...

I can name a lot of the guys who work for the companies I like.. Collin O'Neal, Johnny Hazard..

Alas, half the time I don't even know who IS a model and who's the company president. I mean... I'd much rather shag the upper management at Hot House than the talent. :jasun:

A year ago, I wouldn't have been able to differentiate more than a couple handfulls, but now that I've been in the industry, I'm learning names since I deal with a little bit of placement on pages regarding titles and featured stars.

I used to only know three... from Bel Ami.

I can't name very many these days. It seems as if the showcase model of the past that everyone knew the name of has been replaced by models who are the flavor of the month. I can't keep up.

A large part of the lack of "showcase" models is the studios turning out a ton of crap, always looking for the next model instead of developing models they already have that are appealing... or else a model working for a million different studios and burning himself out with his audience.

BTW, Sammy Case never worked for Bel Ami. He did more scenes for us than for anyone else, but he's worked with Colt, Helix, PZP, us (18 West), Badpuppy, Boyfun, Allboy Magazine, and a couple of others I can't think of right now.

I've always felt like cultivating demand over the long term with the audience is best done by slowly and carefully releasing a model's content over a longer period rather than shitting it out as quickly as possible... but that assumes that the model is also interested in building a career over time rather than being a flash in the pan, and I think that both models and studios are often impatient.

I'm awful with pornstar names, though I was proud to have not only recognized but remembered Tim Hamilton's name when I saw him walking through town with his girlfriend last weekend. (He didn't mind the fact that I couldn't stop staring and eventually smiled at me, and I swooned. god i live this city.)

I've met a lot of porn stars by their real names, and I often remember their real name before their drag name... er, I mean their porn name.

I was trying to remember the last name of another model, but couldn't, but then I remembered Sammy, so I just tacked it on there.

The other model that I couldn't actually remember the name of, was David something. He had a tattoo of a spider web on his shoulder.

I can run off the list of names of my favorites to watch, sure. And a few head cases, but that's another matter. Other than that, it's tough to keep up half the time.

I'm actually bad with actors/actresses names and faces in Hollywood though. Priorities...
