    Blog question: Is less more?

I was reading comments on another forum where people recommended being very stingy when it comes to putting promo photos on your blogs. Instead of loading up a post with a bunch of promo pics, just include 2 or 3. The feeling was that this would increase the chances of a surfer clicking through to the sponsor. Someone else said not to use nude pics, only sexy non-nude content, again for the purpose of getting the surfer worked up enough to click through.

Just wondering what you guys here think of that strategy.

there's 2 ways to look at this. giving your surfers 4 - 5 pics per blog may cause more of them to bookmark your site and come back regularly. giving your surfers less may cause them to want more and go away, hopefully to where you want them to go.

still, even if you only give them 1 - 3 pics per blog, if you have 250 blogs there is still plenty to keep 'em looking...

when i did galleries, i did better with 15 pics than 20, but always made better sales with hardcore than non nude.

Different types of blogs work for different traffic, you have to analyze your traffic and see what works best with it. Many of our affiliates were asking for non-nude, thats why we have a non-nude RSS feed on gayunderwearblog.com and also why our exclusive promo photos always have some non-nude shots included.

Maybe you should experiment with 3 different blogs and check the overall results in a couple of months time?

I used to load tons and tons as I like to give visitors to any site I build (Adult or otherwise lots of content, I'm a giver :whip: ) but then I realized my RSS feeds weren't going out because my posts were too big, from images and all the plugins I had on blog software. So outside of the whole "...If they get the milk for free" analogy, I stopped putting too many images just to trim my feed down.

I only give 2-4 sample photos (maybe 6 at most) on my blog. And I reduce the size to 300 pixels high.

The industry has to learn that we are not competing against each other, we are competing against FREE porn. (i.e. self-made porn, stolen content, and overly generous bloggers).
