How Concerned Are You About Your Private Data...

When it comes to the type of information the various sponsor programs/processing companies, etc have about you in the adult industry?

I never really thought about it until now and then only because one of our friends asked us how 'safe' our data was working in the porn business.

But thinking about it, it really wouldnt take much for some rogue employee at an affiliate program or processing company to steal thousands upon thousands of webmasters details and use them to steal their identity.

Are you concerned about something like this happening? Is there information about yourself that you simply refuse to give to sponsor programs and billing processors because of this very reason?

" ... rogue employee ...", crappy coders, dishonest sponsors selling their affiliate lists, cleaning staff pocketing back-up drives which moron administrators leave laying about etc.

At the end of the day I am not @ all worried because ""I"" am not in any of the systems!

Other than American webmasters, most programs do not even want or need your personal info, nor should they be gathering it. I am surprised at how many international marketeers actually fill that in field in when they join our program.

I have always been confused as to why a program NEEDS your social security/insurance number on file! Since I am not an American working with Americans, maybe I am missing something. However, the last I checked, adult web marketeers (CRTA/AKA: webmasters) are not employees.

I am not worried about it anymore than I am worried about someone stealing the hard drive from my college Alumni office which had my SSN, DOB, Drivers License #, Credit Card info from Tuition Payments, etc.

All of your "sensitive" information is already floating out there in so many places. To me, it seems silly to worry about things like that.
