We've had a severe gas shortage here in the South East U.S. since hurricane Ike hit Texas.

Last week I traveled about 20 miles (close to empty) and passed 11 gas stations, all out of gas. The station that finally had gas had a wait of about 30 minutes and rationed out only 10gallons of gas per car. The streets are pretty empty here and things are close to shutting down for lack of employees able to get to work. They say we should have gas after labor day possibly.

Here's a news story video on the situation and there are some links here and here to give you more info. It seems to be mainly affecting Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.

Not only is this affecting our local economy, and most likely your sales, but North Carolina is a swing state and people here not having gas like this will definitely push them to vote for change I think. Oddly I haven't seen any mainstream news coverage of this crisis, then again I haven't been looking for it.
