Why Do Mainstream Programs....

Primarily seem to have their affiliate management run through a 3rd party 'affiliate network' as oppose to a 3rd party billing processor like we have in the adult industry?

The last few days i have been checking a lot of non-adult affiliate programs and they all seem to use ClickBank to run their programs instead of their own software or a 3rd party billing processor.

Although, i will say, payouts in mainstream seem to be much higher when it comes to individual products and even some membership based sites.

Do you think it is a trust issue from mainstream affiliates, or do you think there is more to it than that?

In mainstream everything is contracted out. The reason most don't do it in adult is because the adult industry is considered "taboo"

This could very well change in the future if the economy continues down the same lines it's going.

If anyone should have 3rd party affiliate networks it should be adult. Lots of dodgy things going on with sponsors screwing over affiliates.
