Business Suggestion For Blake Mason, Corbin Fisher, Sean Cody, Etc...

Those of you who have your own sites using totally exclusive content but only have the 1 site in yoru portfolio...

Why dont you take some of the models you have already shot and launch a new site with them?

For example, lets say you have a bunch of black models on your sites, which most of you do, why not compile all of that content and launch a black male site like your flagship site?

You already have the content, you already have the scripting and you already have the traffic, it would seem a logical step to use your existing content (and future content) to create another site to increase the profitability from what you already have.

Most webmasters use their content on more than one site, why is it different for those of you with exclusive content only using that content on a single site?

Seems to me like you are losing out on an additional revenue stream with very little investment needed on your part to get a new site up and running $0.02

    Regards,

    Lee

Because we have spent 100's of thousands of dollars branding BlakeMason and it would be much more profitable to spend another few 100 thousand dollars and create a site that has even more exclusive content.

I think you may be missing my point.

You already have a shitload of exclusive content, some of it featuring models that could quite easily be used in niche specific sites.

Why not launch niche specific sites using your existing content?

As i said, most webmasters i know, use content sets on more than 1 of their sites, in fact, i dont know ANYBODY that doesnt use a content set more than once.

Just seems like you folks arent utilizing your content to its fullest right now, it has nothing to do with how much you spend on market, and well, lets be honest, for the most part it is your affiliates that have garnered your brand names and site image more than anything.

Perhaps a better way of me putting is like this...

Does EVERY single one of your members like EVERY single model in your sites?

    No.

Does this mean that you have some members join and cancel because they have to go through all of your content in order to find the sets they like?

    Yes.

So why not create several 'mirror' sites using a selection of like-themed model sets, which wont cost you anything other than a design to cater to your surfers/members specific tastes.

Blondes, Brunettes, Redheads, Uncut Guys, Couples, Groups, Jacking Off, Anal Sex, these are just a few of the niche sites that could be launched under the main sites company, really easily.

You already have the content and lets be honest, affiliates would flock to promote the new sites on highly targetted traffic sources.

With the companies i mentioned brand recognition and market penetration they have, for all intents and purposes they could launch One-LeggedTransseualMidgetHookers.com and you would get affiliate promoting the new sites, and all it would take for you to do as a company is to have a new design created and domain registered, content sorted to individual niches and you would automatically potentially DOUBLE your income.

    Lee,

I fully understand your point. But, I just disagree. If BlakeMason started another site with the same models in various niches, then I can assure you that BlakeMason would not be the success that it is.

    Concerning branding:

Yes, affiliates have helped branded our site. However, I would also argue that spending $10k+ a month on various forms of advertising brands the site very effectively as well.

Surfers know that if a video appears on BlakeMason it will never appear anywhere else. With an average member comeback percentage of over 70% within 3 months, I would say that the model is working really well.

The last thing that a site that has spent 100's of thousands of dollars building a brand with content only seen on that site wants to do is start spreading the content across various sites.

It's one thing when you buy exclusive content from various producers at say $500 a video and spread it across various sites. It's quite another thing when some of the films we produce cost upwards of $5,000 each.

The best way, imho, for a site like BlakeMason, to monetize is to create the best films we can with the best model we can get, keep it exclusive to Blakemason, and spend resourses on building the brand.

The Randy Blue/ Sean Cody/ Corbin Fisher/ Blake Mason type of model is hard for some to understand. I believe (can only really speak for Blake mason) in saying that we are not trying to create more and more porn sites, but making the one that we have the best it can be and put our resources in that.

It seems to be working pretty damn good for BlakeMason.

because then the content wouldn't be unique to the site - nor would the look and vibe.

But content that is 12 months + old isnt what is selling the sites right now, its the NEW stuff that sells the site.

Also, lets be honest, many of these sites put the content on DVD after a while anyway or, if they dont, it is in their plans to in the future $0.02

I disagree, its the combination of all the content that you have that sells the sites. It is the entire picture that you show the surfer when they come to join. If the site is done well, then they can find any content they want easily including old content. The problem is people in the porn industry keeping their sites looking like sites from 1999.

Bottom line, if you have unique content, a well thought out site, easy navigation, this is what sells the most. Getting people to their "fix" fast is what people are looking for.

I think abostonboy is 100% correct. Not only does it take away from the marketing power that you have for the flagship site, but it also makes more work internally, by now having to manage more sites, more support, more work for programmers etc., which all also takes time from creating new ideas and expanding on the powerhouse site you have.
