Website Enhancement Help Requested

Hello... This is Marc from 1800GAYLIVE. In an effort to make our customer's experience more well rounded, we are looking to increase the functionality on our website. Currently it is mostly just informational with some photos and pricing info about the phone service, there is not much "to do" once you are there. We are looking to add features like personal ads, chat rooms, instant messaging, profiles, etc. Ultimately, this would have a combination of a free element and a paid member component. This is a big undertaking and before attempt we dive into it ourselves, I have been asked to see there are perhaps people out their that own this sort of technology to sell to other companies for use or can assist with the process.

In my personal opinion, if you are offering phone sex lines, you shouldnt clutter the site up with a bunch of other features, especially ones that will take the focus away from getting the customer to call a phone sex line.

Take a look at some of the other large phone sex affiliate programs out there and see what they have on their sites, its a few thumbed images, some basic text and that is it.

OmegaCash would be a good place to start, they have nice simple layouts that dont distract the surfer from the primary reason they are hitting the site, to call up and speak to a phone sex operator.

As i said, just my opinion but, if you want to add additional features to your main site i would say you will notice a significant drop in phone sex revenues as the surfers will be more likely to try meeting someone 'in person' rather than spending money on a phone call they can jack-off to $0.02

As it stands, i would already say your site is to complex for a phone sex caller, they want to access a page where they can see some sample 'models' and see the phone number to call to speak to that 'model' anything other than that will distract the surfer and potentially lose a 'sale'.

Thanks for the links and advice.

Lee - we aren't really a phone sex site in the way you are thinking. We don't hire guys to sit on the line and talk dirty to callers. All the people on the service are customers, no hired actors.

We are more of a hook-up site where guys go to find each other. We offer limited daily free trials to make sure there are always some guys on the line, but they have only some of the full functionality that a paid member has. So in that regard, we really are much more of a hook up site, than a phone sex line. Of course some of our guys will use the service simply to get off over the phone, but from all we can tell that is only a small percentage of the overall use of the line.

So it seemed like a natural (and overdue) expansion of our phone line to introduce similar functions on the website.
