Are There Any Benefits Of Having A Paysite 'Hub' Over Individual Sites?

By that what i mean is sponsors that have various niched paysites all going to sub domains of a main site for example...

twinks.domain.com
bears.domain.com
ebony.domain.com

Over having individual domains for each niche site?

Im guessing the most basic benefit would be cost based, only actually needing to register 1 domain name plus only needing to spend time maintaining one central members area.

Can you think of any other benefits to operating paysites on this basis or do you think it is better to have individual domain names for each paysite in an affiliate program?

Building traffic/links etc. to only one domain and get a high ranking.

Building traffic/links etc. to only one domain and get a high ranking.

Each individual sub domain would get its own ranking in the SERPs not the main domain, unless that had links going to it also.
