What Makes A 'Good' Blog Post For You?

In terms of actually getting the reader to click links, join sites, etc, etc?

Do you think image or movie samples have to be offered as 'standard' or does text work better or maybe a combination of both?

What about personalizing posts, do you think offering opinions in blog posts helps with getting clicks, etc?

Your thoughts, is there such a thing as a 'perfect' blog post in order to stand a higher chance of making a sale?

Also by the same standard, what makes a 'bad' blog post?

I always look at it from the role of being a friend and a salesperson. As a friend I like to create my writing as if I were talking to you over a beer or something, very relaxed and yet full of opinions, but not long and drawn out to lose your attention. Short, sweet, but full of details (and keywords haha). Then as a salesperson, I let you know about whatever I'm promoting as if I were interested enough in purchasing it myself. Also, as a salesperson I get their appetite wet with a few pics or a short clip, enough to get them to say "Ok, I want more!!" and thus leading to clickthrus.


Bad posts? Uninspired writing and general "themes" aka This site has the HOTTEST performers ever!!! :nobody:


Use Thesaurus.com It's a major helper too (even for registering domains).

I agree with Jayvis. You need to use unique, personalized text to make your site stand out. You've got to "sell" it.
