Software Tools Every Adult Webmaster Needs?

I was wondering, as adult webmasters, what are some simple programs that we all need to use that form a basic standard toolkit?

For example, encoding programs, screengrab applications, ftp programs, that sort of stuff?

Not necessarily expensive programs like PhotoShop but simpler applications and software products that make it easier for us to do our jobs?

Any other program suggestions you can add to this thread?

For ftp, I found a great add on if you use FireFox, called FireFTP. Don't have to start another program as it opens in FF.
Image Editing - THE GIMP, Paint.net, Inkskape
Screen Grab - Quick Screen Capture from Etrusoft
Fonts - dafont.com (I believe I got that from Bec)
Encoding - FFMPEG (still learning...), WINFF,
Other tools I use for Java, Eclipse/Netbeans. I don't use PHP yet, but Netbeans has an IDE for PHP.

Firefox has a screen grab plugin now ... I've installed it and it's a piece of cake to use and has assorted ways you can choose what to capture. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1146

I'm really addicted to Picasa3 for image management and manipulation.

It's from Google and it's FREE!
