I've been using goog411 for about a year now. It's really amazing. Better than the $2 per call Sprint Mobile Directory Assistance in that the computer can actually hear what you want and give it to you rather than having to spell it to an incompetent phone rep, and it connects you to your party, gives you address and details... and all for free!
Wonder what they will come up with next!
It's fantastic!
But actually - the text/SMS version is what I use daily. Text the name and city to the number 466-453.
Good way to remember the text number is that it actually spells 'Google' - 466453...

what do you use it for?
It says for businesses. I guess I don't remember the number to Mira Bella Cafe sometimes, but I usually hit up their website on my phone and get the number.
I haven't used traditional 411 service in years.
I do use Google local search all the time to get phone numbers.
I don't think I could deal with the voice prompts.
I use it when I'm out in the car... for example, the other night I was looking for a store and had forgotten the exact address, called goog411 and in about 15 seconds had all the info I needed.
