Cybersocket - Please Remove GWW From Your Nomination List

Whilst i appreciate the fact that somebody has taken the time to nominate GWW for your awards, it would be a double standard on my part to encourage further nomination or even for me to accept the award should we win based on the fact that i think you are scumbags who are willing to lie, cheat and steal in order to further your businesses at the expense of the gay adult industry.

For over 10 years now i have been adamantly against the practices you use to generate business, including your knowingly lying about circulation numbers for countless years to increase ad revenues for your bar rag whilst trying to openly suggest your competitors do the same, despite the fact they do not.

I just do not feel you are a company i want GWW to be associated with in any manner based on your previous business pactices that have caused damage the gay adult industry irreparably in some instances.

It is my belief that the sooner Cybersocket goes out of business, the better off the gay adult industry will be.

I do appreciate GWW getting nominated by whomever took the time to submit it to your awards but as i said, i feel strongly enough about your company that i am happy to request GWW be removed from the nomination process for these worthless awards further.

I am going to say something here.

For the past 3 years, we have subscribed into their holiday email newsletter. They claim it's sent out 1 time per week for the term of 4 weeks. Every consecutive year, we have done this.
Have we received any sale from this at all? No. Not one. We have even offered to GIVE stuff away 50% off discount coupons, 50% off memberships at $9.95 a month, etc.

So this year we decided to check up on them. I installed traffic facts onto the server. This will tell you anywhere you get hits.
This year we had them link to something like SebastiansStudios.net/cybersocket/ (I think this is it).

And only ONE hit.

Secondly, we have consistently advertised in the publication, online, and even have them as an affiliate.
Advertising with them online and in print has NOT been very successful at all, even generating a loss.

Monday, we are actually looking at ending our advertising with them. It's useless!
NOW even though I say it's useless... it could be good for someone else, just not for our needs or methods of advertising with them.

We advertise in 7 other print magazines. Our traffic flow is absolutely beautiful but frankly nothing from Cybersocket.

I know from personal experience that their voting system is a crock. A past business partner had nominated his own site and ask me to vote a few times for it. i told him that I doubted they would allow you to just sit a a computer and keep voting like that...he proved me wrong. We check the totals for his site and then he told me to check back in a few, I did and the totals were higher from him doing exactly what he told me to do.

Also he said that they had special friends and for the right price you could win one of their awards, I don't know if it's true, but things sure looked fishy to me.

It's all about who spends more money advertising with them. Think about it, if your an advertiser, you buy a full ad and run it for a year. Your nominated, your the one that's going to win because they are going to want to keep your business. I've seen it many times with them.

I have noticed that Men and [2] have given us the best returns. Those are specialty Publications magazines.

we have found that cyber socket is targeted to webmasters and not consumers. so if you want to market your programs that might help you. but anything directed to the end user, good luck.

Well this is ours now in it's 3rd year The European Gay Porn Awards, The title says European but American studios and performers get put forward also, It all really depends on what gets nominated, and I can assure everyone that it is publicly voted on, We have repeated IP logging and email logging to ensure this as best as we can..

I wont pass full comment on CS, only to say with the majority of people all saying the same thing about them be it true or not makes me wonder why people get excited about being put forward / winning if this is the case :crazy:

Joking aside, Your sites would come under our new Web Awards (more information can be found here http://egpawebawards.com/), Generally either the site owner or any of your surfers / members can put the sites forward for voting upon, And from there it is a case of the site owner informing the surfers / members that they can vote if they wish to do so.. This is not traffic biased so there is no click counting, people have to actually register and place their vote, also they have the opportunity to vote upon other category's.

We are making plans to combine the Web awards and the Gay Porn awards into one large event...
