    Real Strange?

I have a paysite called manstay it also has a no leak affiliate area for affiliates to send to. The strange thing is I see affiliates signing up but that is it, they never put banners nor do they get the free content. What was the point in signing up??? I sure hope that changes!!

I guess I need to do the bullshit 100.00 on free signup to affiliates but I can't as my affiliate program is with CCBILL and I can't hide the sales. Give me a break 100.00 on a free signup. Whatever!!! There are lots of humble people out there that go for this crap. I won't nor would I ever push that, oh there might be a few large guys getting paid so that the small guy gets the word but you get 10,000 affiliates getting 100. for free sign ups WHAT!!!!????

Gimmicks tell yah I guess all my affiliates are taking the bait.....

    I totally agree.

Affiliate sales should definitely just be considered as 'bonus sales' especially from smaller program owners, there is simply no way a small affiliate program can expect affiliates to generate more than 20-30% of their monthly income unless they are grandfathered in.

Right now affiliates are making roughly 70% of sales to the Condom Cash sites and quite frankly, i hate that fact, that being said, the past few months i havent been focusing on building my own sites as much as i used to but im getting back in to the swing of things and slowly making that 70% figure lower.

Also, dont forget, affiliates may signup for a program today but in reality, not put their links in place for weeks or even months, i know i join programs with the mindset of using them when my existing sponsors sales start to decrease so that i can switch things up a bit.

    Regards,

    Lee

if you want affiliates to send you traffic, you need a good tour. your content may be good, but your tour is definitely not. i know hundreds of webmasters who make their living as affiliates and no one except review sites and newbs will promote a tour like that, me included.

btw, offering incentive should only come after your tour looks better and works better. it can still look amateurish - no need for slick tours - but it needs definite improvement.

btw, dump the flash, dump the explicit pics on the warning page, open all your pages in the same window, don't put pics together of pics that look to similar - in other words, order your pics so they go

if you're going to have a very amateur, text link tour, take off that silver and purple nav bar. tell us something about your site at the TOP of the main tour page - right now we haven't a clue - organize your model pages better.

you've got a couple leaks on your tour, but it doesn't matter without better layout and design. it can be simple like
    http://www.seancody.com/page.php?fra...bff883e64cc23c
or http://www.barebackmasters.com/tour1.html but it has to be better than it is.

I wish I could join the team

    Can I join the team??

All I can say is one mans view is not another ones view. I have made changes to the site over and over with out this or with that made at first a site that was almost the same as sean site or this or that and to tell you the true it is all about numbers. How many people go to a site. For those that don't wish to join my affiliate or buy membership so be it, for what I am offering compared to many other sites that I have joined in the past I offer alot but I am small and even Sean started out small and grew. I am growing and learning from all and as I can will keep improving adding, changing etc.

I did go to the site and quite frankly I'm confused ... is this an independent paysite or is it a Badpuppy site?

As a newbie I can say that I am guilty of signing up with a sponsor and then not doing anything to send them traffic. it happens for various reasons. One of my reasons was I didn't know shit about promoting a site!

But with the help of the wonderful folks here, I will now have the guidence to do the right thing.:cheekymonkey:

I'm a little confused too. Is it manstay.com or badboyfilms.com or part of the badpuppy network, or all of the above? Perhaps, the affiliate tour is more clear?

Perhaps affiliates are signing up first, then looking at the site closer and deciding to take a pass.

While I've never been accused of being a great web designer, I did notice that your join links are rather hard to find. Also, your thumbs load the full size image. This makes the pages load painfully slow even on a cable connection.

You also appear to be messing with people's back button. At least Chrome definitely doesn't like it. The second that happens, I'm out!

I would not send my visitors to this site as they are sure to get really pissed off.

It is NOT "all about numbers," at least, not about total traffic. Traffic x conversion rate is what matters.

Patti gave you some really good advice, and it's advice coming from somebody that people usually pay a lot of money to get advice from. There are plenty of abysmal paysite tours, and they never get adequate traffic because sponsors won't promote them. There are also plenty of sites that the owners work hard to get their own traffic, only to discover that the site doesn't convert. Either way, the message is clear: You have to have good traffic, that's appropriate for your site, and you have to have good content and a good tour in order to convert that traffic.

My guess is that even if you spent a bunch of money building the traffic or buying it, you'd find that your conversion won't be what you want. 1:1000 or 1:5000 or worse is what bad tours convert at, and it's a shame to put the effort in building your own traffic with a tour that won't convert. The advice Patti gave is right on the money.

I'd also add that, with the diversity of guys you have, it may be a tough sell unless you have a ton of content (I mean over 500 scenes) because most people like a particular type of guy and would prefer to spend their money on a site specializing in the same type of guy. You have a bunch of cute guys, but they're all over the map in terms of genre, so unless someone sees enough guys that appeal to them to make them part with their cash, they'll just move on to another site with more guys in the genre they are after.

Also, I notice you're processing with CCBill, but don't accept Visa. This will also have a significant impact on your conversion, as a large % of debit cards are Visa only, and studies have shown that about 65% of all porn credit transactions are done with Visa.

Also, if you are asking for input, it's not wise to get input from one of the most knowledgeable people in the industry and then tell her that her advice is wrong... well, you aren't likely to get more advice from her.

Last thing: Comparing yourself to Sean Cody isn't going to help you. SeanCody started very early on, when practically anything would sell. They have extraordinary branding because they marketed incessantly and a lot of guys now in their late 20s and early 30s remember Sean Cody because it was what they watched in their early teens. Today's market is entirely different, and even some of the most established sites are struggling.

The ones who are still successful are constantly testing, trying new things, taking advice from those who have been around for a while, and working harder than they've ever worked. That doesn't mean giving $100 signups; there are plenty of sites doing well with 50/50 revshare or $25-35 PPS. And most site owners realize that they can't do it all. Focus on whatever part of things you're good at, and get outside help to support you with what you don't... for example, consider hiring an experienced adult designer or traffic consultant to help with your tour and what you need to attract affiliates who actually have traffic to send you.
