Today Joseph Kerekes plead guilty to murdering Gay porn rival producer Bryan Kocis

WILKES-BARRE, Pa.—A man has pleaded guilty in the stabbing death of a northeastern Pennsylvania porn producer.

Thirty-four-year-old Joseph Kerekes pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Prosecutors say Kerekes and a co-defendant, 27-year-old Harlow Cuadra, killed Bryan Kocis inside his Dallas home, then set the house on fire to try to cover up the crime. Prosecutors say the suspects wanted to eliminate a rival in the gay porn industry.

Kerekes' plea spares him a potential death sentence. He says he won't testify against Cuadra, who is schedule to go on trial next month.

Both men are from Virginia Beach, Va. FULL STORY

How do you think this will affect Cuadra's upcoming trial? Anyone surprised?

Yes quite the plea heh Chad? They must have some iron clad evidence for him to make that plea.

Maybe he's content in prison? Don't fellow prisoners treat Gay men well in prison ?

Violent crime is bad alone, but as a gay man, gay on gay crime is worse. And these shitheads did this cause this guy was a perceived rival?

    I say hang them.

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

Interesting, i wonder just what sort of effect this will have on the trial itself of Harlow, i know if i was on the jury and both were charged but 1 admitted guilt, i would be more inclined to beleive the others guilt.... Even if he werent actually guilty.

Cant be good for Cuadra thats for sure.

Also makes me wonder if they both werent offered a plea and told the 'first' to accept gets a better deal.

    Regards,

    Lee

Potential jurors that are aware of Kerekes plea may be excluded from the jury, and the judge would instruct the jury to disregard the fact that Kerekes had plead if they found out.

I am sure that any potential juror that is aware of this plea would be asked if that would influence his decision. Lee, answering honestly, would then be dismissed from the pool.

As for possible deals for Cuadro, life without parole and death row for life (there have only been 3 executions in Pennsylvania since 1976) are not that far apart. http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/state/
