That's because they're not out to sell us something, but rather to gather personal and financial info that can be used fraudulently in other ways.

I got on some list for Conservative idiots somehow.

I must have been offered a million dinners for two at the Olive Garden if I'd complete a simple survey or if I'd vote on an urgent poll.

I've also somehow gotten on an Obama supporter email list where they try to sell me the cheesiest unauthorized crap like Obama plates, Obama spoons, Obama dish towels, Obama "Commemorative Coins" and Obama plaques.

None of it goes to his campaign or to a charity... it's all just people selling shit with his face on it.

It's just bizarre.
