Domain Names - Short Or Descriptive?

When you are looking to register a new domain name at whichever domain name registrar you use, do you try to find short names or descriptive domains for your registrations?

For me i prefer finding shorter domain names over descriptive ones although im the first to admit, finding shorter, 2 word domains often takes longer to find a match than a 3+ word descriptive domain name does.

So which of the two do you prefer when it comes to registering domain names for a new project, short names or, descriptive ones?

Descriptive takes priority over short.

when im registering a domain name i shoot for both - short and descriptive
if it's not possible i go for shorter and memorable and as descriptive as possible
the max char. length i go for is about 12-13 characters

I'm more of a domainer than an adult webmaster, and finding a generic gay domain name is a lot better than some random made up name that gets no searches on the top search engines. You can use Google's keyword tool to help you search for domain names. It will tell you what terms get searched on google.

The problem is that many of the best gay"adult" domains are taken in pretty much all extensions, but if you have the money to buy a decent two word name I'd go that route.

There's actually plenty of really good 2 word gay domains available, the other day i picked up FilthyTwinks thanks to a script i had made that generates a list of domains based on a keyword list i have on one of our servers.

I can add words to the list whenever i want and the script generates a full list of all available 2 word domain combinations based on those keywords.

Its saved me literally hours upon hours this year alone in searching for domain name options.
