Do You Add Domain Names To Your Server Immediately?

When you purchase them or do you do something else with them?

I must admit, for the most part, unless the domain is something i can use within two weeks, ill point them to the Sedo nameservers (which is actually set as my 'default' at all of our registrars) otherwise ill manually add the NatNet name servers and open a support ticket to get a domain added as soon as i click 'order'.

Do you folks do anything specific when you purchase a new domain or do you just register it and change its name server/hosting options once you are ready to use the name?

I have tons of domains I haven't put on my server yet. Godaddy probably makes a pretty penny with my domains :cheekymonkey:

I would think you would add domain names when you want Google SEO to start happening.

You don't want Google to spider an empty website.

Get a list of domain names together in notepad and setup a free account at Sedo, cut and paste your domain list in to your acct and park them there, that way you will make money from them and not GoDaddy

Christ...I wish i had found you guys way before. I have gotten rid of so many domain names cause I didn't know what to do with them. I know GoDaddy loves me!

My last batch of domain names I DNS'd to my webhost, then temp redirected each domain to a suitable sponsor site right away.

i always try to get them either pointing to an existing site or added to my blogs organizer (where they automatically get listed on my networks and start getting crawled by search engines).
