Horizontal Scrolling - Bad Idea?

would a gallery with large photos like this annoy members?

on a 1024x768 screen you have to scroll for both landscape and portrait photos. but this allows for nice large photos. do you guys think i should use smaller photos? suggestions?

ps. mind the donkey chick (it's a test photo set)

Well right now, the smallest sizes we have in the Condom Cash members areas are 640px on the longest side, the largest are 2000px on the longest size.

As of yet, i havent had any complaints at all about the image sizes or video sizes from anyone other than affiliate webmasters $0.02

Looks OK to me (on 1024x768). I guess your visitor stats will tell you the optimum screen res to shoot for.

Does anyone spend time cropping the background? Is it worth it? I would think that leaving it will help distract a visitor, don't want them enjoying themselves too much!

I like an occasional horizontal scrolling page.

Especially for a gallery of photos - it is like going to an art gallery and panning your eyes from left to right around the room.

I am far sighted, which means I can't read a newspaper, but I can see a red light 6 blocks up the street. I like panning left and right, it is natural to the horizon, like standing on a hilltop and looking 180 degrees or more left to right.
