How Many Of You Make Regular Sales From Free Sites?

So i have been running over some stats for last year on Condom Cash and must say, im actually quite suprised at where 95% of my affiliate sales have come from, either hosted promo tools or, directory/review sites.

Only 5% of total affiliate sales came from free sites or TGP submissions, i was wondering if any other program owners had noticed a higher percentage of their sales coming from their own hosted promo tools and/or directories/review sites?

Your so right Bill. Thats why ive slowly been getting out of porn. Ive always done well with my little free sites and galleries but it got harder and harder. I knew that at some point id probably have to get a job working for one of the big guys. Ive done that in the past and wanted to retain my freedom so thats why i started looking for something new. I should be out of porn in six months. To bad ive because I've enjoyed the last 9 years

I was gonna ask why you got out of posting galleries, but I figure I already know, tho I'm still a little curious over what the 'final straw' might have been.

I'm hoping there will still be a place for a few old-school small webmasters, in the next decade of pornslinging, but I think it's going to be a grim interim. It would have been even without a recession, the recession just makes it harder.

But I don't think a new stable model of a small-time webmaster has emerged yet.

I ran businesses and was self-employed for some years before I stumbled into webmastering, so I know how sweet a gig it is, compared to a lot of businesses.

I got out of galleries about a year or so ago and just switched to free sites and blogs. Frankly it was just that i was getting less and less sales from the galleries. I made more from the free sites so made more sense to make more of those and forget the galleries. Of course i still occasionally get sale from one. Just got a sale from pridebucks today from a gallery i made on 2005.

Also as i said in the other thread ,about those of us who disapeared, Ive been spending this last year making the transition to another career. Anti-aging. One of the other recession proof business's.

i know what you mean about te old school small webmaster. hell i made my living at this for almost ten years and enjoyed making my own hours and working from home.
Thats what appealed to me about my new biz. I'm my own boss as well and i make my own hours. Only difference is i cant stay at home all the time but maybe thats a god thing. getting back out in the world Oh and the money is turning out to be much bigger.
Anyway im still peeking in every once in awhile cause im not completely out of the biz yet. maybe another 6 months at the most so ill be seing you around.

Just great...here I am banging my head against my desk already and now I read this from a couple of the pros on this board. shit!

Maybe I should just focus on my digital art, create enough pieces to publish my book and setup a website.

Bill...right now I've completes approximately 30 to 35 20x24 digital posters that can be printed on paper or canvass. I take nude male images and turn them into various types of work.

Some have a very graphical feel, some almost a paint by number vibe and still others a more realistic sense.

My goal is to create enough for a coffee table type book and perhaps get someone like Bruno Gmunder to distribute it. Or I could do it myself with a Cafe Press type of system.

I was hoping to make some extra cash as a webmaster so I could focus on my art. I work in other media also, e.g. acrylic and I have been dabbling in polymer clay.

Maxxx, as long as the images or depictions aren't touching their private parts. I suggest CreateSpace.com. It's owned by Amazon. CreateSpace.com will print the items as the consumers purchase the items and then pay you a percentage. We use this service, Hot Desert Knights uses it, and a couple of others.
We also have a story book with 100 stories with pictures awaiting approval right now with them.
