    We've Been Hacked

Effective today, we have been hacked.
For example, please go here: www.sebastianpass.com

If you are on a Godaddy.com hosting solution, I suggest maybe checking all of your sites.

It switches between the website and White Glove Waitering out of Vancouver, Canada.

So, Godaddy fixed everything. The error was generated by a "worm" that somehow crawled through. Godaddy says the worm affected like 10 other hosting accounts and they were able to remove it.
This was really weird. We have never experienced this before. It was like what the hell is this! :worm:

    Yes.
We've been hosting with them for nearly 5 years. They know we're adult. They've never said anything and have never treated us any differently.
This is actually the first time we've ever encountered any problems like this. We've never been down, never had any problems at all.

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

I was thinking the exact same thing, even *I* am not that cheap LOL

Im not actually sure it would have been a 'worm' either, it sounds more plausible to me that someone screwed up the DNS settings between two domains, considering both are hosted at GoDaddy.

it is against their terms and conditions. they may be fine with it till a new manager comes to work or one of the higher ups finds out - then they can dump you with no warning since your sites are in violation.

Can you please point out where it says that?
I don't see it on any of their terms. I did see in their terms that you can't have obscene content that would violate any US Laws and the only pornography it mentions is child pornography.
Whenever we purchase further hosting accounts with them. It's always asked, "Can I host pornographic content on this server for public viewing." The response always received is "As long as it does not violate any local or federal laws."

But I didn't see that in their terms. If you look they were also updated on 1-13-2009.

I've always been openly gay. It would never occur to me to behave otherwise. maxx68's Avatar

Yes, GoDaddy does allow porn. I asked them and they sent me back a link to the section that addresses it. I don't have it handy but if you write them they'll send it to you. As long as its legal, it's allowed.

Out of GD's TOS. So, who's morals is this based on?

In the event Go Daddy deletes Your Services because they are being used in association with spam or morally objectionable activities, no refund will be issued.

That's the same thing they told us. As long as it does not violate any laws, it is allowed.
I just hung up the phone with Rob O. (Email: rmay@secureserver.net)
He said that pornographic material is allowed. He said Godaddy hosts many websites with pornographic material.
He said this is allowed, but when it comes to their design services, that is not permitted.

When the error was first noticed, the content was taking us to that site.
When JJ called Godaddy, I and Justin were both sitting next to him. The Godaddy tech flat out said that it was a worm that crawled through. Now, it could have been what your saying. Or it could have been 2 things happening at once. I don't know. The important factor was that the situation has been resolved with little pain and efforts on our end to correct the possible damages.
This post was generated because I know from reading posts that a lot of you purchase domains from Godaddy, and I had assumed that some of you had hosting with them as well.
Should it have been a Godaddy issue, this made you folks aware of any possible affects from the occuring situations that took place. That was my reasoning for the post.

Yes, Godaddy is cheap. We have 3 accounts with them. They are all unlimited disk space and unlimited bandwidth, and I believe we pay them $140 per year per hosting account.
But, we definitely receive our money worth. Our main concerns in hosting is:
    * Up time - we never want downtime.
    * Video Playtime - We don't like slow or a video to take longer than expected to play.
    * Domain propagation time - When we're ready to launch a domain, we like to see it live within less than 2 hours so we can begin promoting the site.
    * Web page Load Time - We want web pages to load for the consumer as quickly as possible for navigation purposes on the consumers end.
    * Auto Installers - Such as Joomla, Mambo, Wordpress, etc. Basic installations that many hosts offer.

And with these all in effect, we are in great shape. And that's what we receive from Godaddy. This is why we stick with Godaddy.

The "hacking" issue, we have never seen anything like this. So initially it was a "scare" to everyone.

And for one final time..yep, you can host legal adult material on GoDaddy.com

BUT..and this is a big but (no pun intended), you can't have ccbill's script or anything like that on their servers. They won't allow that (I know..I tried).

So am curious Derek as to how you collect your monies?

I am not a fan of GoDaddy, but didn't they have a slutty commercial during the SuperBowl a few years ago? That even looked like porn. So no surprise they would allow it. Plus their name kind of says it all..
    Thanks,
    Jacob
