    Hello Jaroq,

While I am not familiar with either of those hosts here are some criterion I can certainly recommend that you should consider as part of your search process.

    1. Does their AUP and TOS openly support and allow for adult content.
    2. Do they openly support the adult industry. In the course of your business you will reap the benefits of choosing a host familiar with the industry.
    3. How do they handle bandwidth overages? If you are having a great month but they shut you down because of your BW that can cost you a significant portion of your efforts.

    Notes:

    1. ewerkshost-isp.com There AUP does support adult. The BW with these shared plans seems very limited for an adult site and I would suggest getting more specifics, in writing, on the recourse of high-BW usage. Also there statement regarding domain migrations and allow for 7 to 60 days seems very excessive.

    2. extreme-hosting.net This should be a serious concern IMHO: "8.4. Traffic usage All customers who exceed their traffic would have their accounts automatically suspended. A short e-mail reminder notice will be sent when traffic usage reaches 90% and 100% after which the account would be deactivated. Failure to receive this notification would not be considered as a reason for complain. Extreme Hosting is not responsible for any loses users may have because of automatic site deactivation. It is customer's responsibility to monitor regularly his/her site through the control panel."

Hope some of that helps and good luck with your search!

I could probably comment on 30 different hosts, as I'm familiar with almost
all of the players in the industry, but have never heard of either those outfits.
Looking at their plans, extreme-hosting.net definitely doesn't look like anyone
I'd deal with for a professional adult site. I suggest you look at some of the
known companies which experienced people on this board and others can
recommend. These include phatservers, webair, natnet, chilihost.nl, atci, cavecreek, mojohost, xcite - all are known, reputable companies you can
find plenty of references for. Well, you may not find many references here
for Xcite, they are mainly known to old timers.

Very Much a Newbie At This

    Hello Everyone ....

This is my 1st day here and my 1st posting !! I decided to introduce myself in this forum because, for now, this is where I'm going to need the most help. I can see from reading several of the other forums over the last couple of days that many of yous guys have been in this business for a LONG LONG time. And that's good for me - cause yous guys are experts at all aspects of this business. Now let's see how you treat a new guy like me.

I'll fill everyone in on my plans and hopes and dreams for my future sucess as I go along, but for now I need to get to my question about hosting.

    Jaroq -- You said ...

Well where does one find out this info about a potential HOSTING provider? And what does AUP and TOS stand for? (Although, I'm thinking TOS is 'Terms Of Service' - I may be a Newbie, but it's not my first barbeque

I just brought my 1st ever domain name and host provider this week! And I'm hoping I haven't made a mistake. I went with 'Bluehost'. I've been research things for about 6 months now and have done some Blogger stuff and even had an Admin account over on YUKU for awhile (so you see I'm not new to forums like this one). But I'm going to start slow - workin' with Bluehost so I can work and learn Wordpress alittle better. And right now all I'm going 'LIVE' with over there is a VERY PERSONAL and NON GAY related blog. Like I said it's JUST a blog and I really won't be working on traffic building or anything like that - don't really expect much more than 20 people to ever even see the sight (mostly it's for my family and friends and I get me in a regular habbit of posting and throwing up some content on a regular basis.

But I do have plans and ideas for future sites and I'll use this domain to A) do some delevopment in the background B) Launch some GAY, but not PORN (well maybe softPORN) sites. C) Learn as I go.

OK ... That's enough for now. Mostly I want to know how Bluehost is with GAY/PORN - I guess that's one thing I forgot to look into. And now that you mention it - I can't seem to find their TOS - but I'll keep looking for it, that's for sure. And I still don't know what a AUP is?

    Thanks for helpin'

Yep, there's a lot of knowledge here and I think you're wise to make use of it.
Personally, I've been in the business thirteen years. I felt like I was a little late to
the party in 1997. After these years, I certainly don't know everything and I
regularly talk to people who are more skilled and knowledgeable than I in certain
areas. Myself, my skills are in the technical aspects, managing servers and developing
software systems like our big three, Strongbox, Throttlebox, and Clonebox.

I use both Host Head and Naked Hosting.
They both allow adult content, have excellent 24/7 tech support, and are affordable.

If you are looking for other hosting options for your blogs check these out:
