Given that we currently have the worst rate of unemployment in almost 40 years, the stock markets are tanking, Americans are losing their homes hand over fist and the banking industry and manufacturing industries are being bailed out by the government, who incidently overpaid for the stakes they got in some of these companies by billions of dollars, do you think the American Dream is dead?

The American Dream...live beyond your means, take on credit you can't possibly afford to pay back and dump loads of debt onto your children's and grandchildren's shoulders.

I thought that having the American dream was a single job that would support the whole family while wife stayed home with the 2.5 kids.
College was affordable if you saved, again with income from one job, and a college degree meant something. Home affordability was a big deal, anyone who worked a normal job could afford a home.
It's all fucked up now. Most people have to work multiple jobs and can't afford to buy a home while kids going to college have to take out student loans.
