Investigating GayPay

Hi folks,

I was wondering what y'all can tell me about GayPay. I have been working with them for a while now and have had a good experience.

While in the middle of preparing a big push on their sites, I noticed that Rabbit's Reviews posted this next to their review of QSolo.

(I haven't made enough enough posts to link to it yet, otherwise I would. It's there though!)

I haven't had any complaints, so I was curious what it was all about. I went on with my works and found that all of the GayPay sites I have checked, hidden in the terms and conditions during the join process is this quote:

I immediately wondered if this was why people were upset. I know that a lot of websites have boxes you need to uncheck during the signup process or else you get billed for additional sites, but this wasn't even a site you could uncheck. As I said, it was hidden in the terms and conditions.

Are people who join this site really getting billed for IncrediblePass? It's pretty slimy to hide a $40 charge that way. Or is there another problem with their sites I am not aware of?

(Wish I knew why Rabbit's Reviews got so pissed at them).

Yep you answered it yourself, it's the prechecked crosssales on the signup form and members seem to be complaining about cancelation problems and ongoing charges. Those guys scam surfers and affiliates.

I'm not sure that it's pre-checked cross-sales that are pissing people off, although it certainly is ethically shady to have them pre-checked. I think most people would notice the checkboxes.

But to hide a $40/month costs in the terms and services? Now that's just fucking rude. I'll post a big-ass warning on GayGeek on all of their sites if I learn that's what they're doing.

Anyone else have any information on these folks and their billing practices? Or whatever else might have pissed off Rabbit's Reviews.

those aren't typically done cross sales, and i'm sure a lot more people miss them than miss normal ones. they say "bonus site" next to each one - there's no indication that these something you pay for in my 1024 browser window. also note that terms is prechecked and NOT uncheckable.

Yup. And that's not even the fine print in the Terms and Conditions where you learn you're spending another $40 on top of all that. Unless, of course you cancel the extra membership, and they're awfully vague on how to do that.

Effective Tuesday February 3rd, we are no longer accepting review sites. The reason for this decision is a review site "reviewed" xxxdto.com. In their review it was misleading and uterly false.
Example: The review said videos were downloaded in .avi format at the lowest quality.
This is false. Videos are downloaded in .wmv format at 680x4-something.

For the full length DVDs it said they were downloaded in a zipped folder of 3 minute clips only.
This is purely false due to the fact that yes they are downloaded in zip files, but they are the scenes from the dvd. No videos on the site are sold for less than 10 minutes.

It said the prices rebilled. They do not rebill. They are one time transactions for the price of the tokens.

The score given was 36 out of 100.

Then we found another review site that had copied their exact review but changed some of the wording.

We had the 2 reviews pulled. At first, they gave us a battle. So we dove in harder and got the reviews pulled.

Thus, we are no longer allowing review sites to utilize our affiliate programs. We can't take the risk for false demeanors.

Not being able to 'uncheck' a cross-sale really is a questionable business practice.

As far as the review sites go, derekt, it's good you went after them and had them pull the misleading review, but turning your back on all review sites as a whole over two knuckleheads seems a bit extreme IMHO. What we tend to do with review sites is ask them to send us a copy of the review before they post it to give us an opportunity to correct any problems or issues they spot. Though we do take those suggestions and criticisms to heart, it also gives us an opportunity to call them out on any misinformation before it reaches the masturbating masses.

We actually had a pic of the guy from Rabbit's Reviews up on our webmasters interface, but they took the guy outside in the Arizona sun and snapped his picture so he's squinting like a WoW player dragged from his mother's basement. It was taken down and replaced with some boobs last I checked.

Hmmmm - bummer - gaypay and all the sobv sites group have been making news on the boards lately - for banging surfers cards.

That means - sticking extra mysterious charges on a surfers card, after they have cancelled their account.

Its too bad there isn't a way to shut shitheads like that down. I would think their cc processor would not be too happy, unless the own their own merchant account and gateway, but even then.

I wonder if there would ever be a time when adult webmasters and adult site owners could form a consortium of sorts and then deal with companies such as GayPay.

Regarding this.... we do not bang anyones credit cards or participate in any fraudulent activity...

There have been many false claims and muddy water. We had worked with certain programs in the past, and decided to terminate our relationship with those programs due to their practices we do not agree with.

As far as cross sales... we still have them. But we have cleaned them up. People voiced their concerns and opinions, we listened. And made changes accordingly.

And please let me know if you have any concerns or questions, I am here to address those

We welcome any constructive criticism, it's important and not only benefits the affiliates, but the surfers who are the bloodline of the industry.
