Excuse The Broken Images But What Do You Think Of This Layout?

Brandon and I are working on some layouts for some hosted free sites to use on our EBook products that our publishers can link to in order to give their sites a little more 'content' and i wondered what you folks thought of the first one we have put together?

Do you think that it is to basic? Does the layout 'work' for you? Is there anything you think we should add/subtract to the overall site design?

As i said right now the broken images are an issue we know about (still waiting on final promo tools from the designer) but thats pretty much the first layout we are considering using and we're looking at making another 8 or 9 layouts for the hosted free sites too.

Any feedback you could offer would be appreciated

Well, it doesn't really reach out and grab me.

I think the text needs more margin, to make it more inviting to read, and more headlines and excerpts to feed words to the brains of those who won't read but only scan.

I'd try to "excite" it up a bit.

I have to agree, all I could see was red... perhaps bold out items that will catch your surfers attention...

I was told once in a sales meeting, that your potential sale gives you 30 secs of active brain function before they start shutting out the message and moving on to something else....if you bold and add headlines etc.. might stop and start those brains up again...

It's a very 90's design and I think people interpret that kind of design as spammy. I could be wrong it's just how I see it :balls: That being said I HATE design and I'm bar far no design guru.

Go with some cheep $45 template like this or this or maybe you could splurge and pay $56 for this and modify it.

On the Internet it's far less than 30 seconds. You have 5-10 seconds at the most before users hit the back button.

Think of how often you've been searching for something on the web. You click in, take one look a the site and see if anything grabs your eye that resembles what you're looking for. Not only are you taking in information regarding what you're looking for, but you're also taking in the credibility of the website itself.

So when someone arrives at your new project, you have five seconds to convince them that your site is:

• What they're looking for
• Credible

Design your website with those two intentions in mind. Otherwise you'll end up with a website that looks like this visual abomination. (Scroll down to revel in its awfulness.)

Please please please tell me that the writing there is only a placeholder, and that you're not actually going to design a website with links and text that is so horribly written and presented. You've got...

• Mass blocks of text
• "Welcome to ____"
• Links in all caps
• "please click on the enter link below"
• Sentences that form links in which every word is capitalized
• Multiple prominent links that all go to the same place

I could go on. When designing a website and writing text for the Internet, think "clean and concise."

As an FYI, Next time you're gonna put together a mock-up of a site, I suggest using Lorem Ipsum text. It's the perfect dummy text for website creation.

As it happens, one of the other templates we started working on last night does have more of a 'blog' feel to it

We're actually wanting to do a couple of different hosted freesite layouts and as, for all intents and purposes, non-adult affiliate publishers have never really had any affiliate program offering hosted freesites before, we want to have a wide range of layouts, including real basic, like the one above, some web 2.0 type layouts as well as some more 'tgp' or 'link list' style sites that our publishers will be able to link to.

In essence, this is new ground in mainstream, nobody knows what layout will/wont work so we want to make sure we can offer as many different options as possible to start with so that going forward, based on which layout works, we can concentrate on building more hosted promo tools for the more productive layouts.

I think the nibble is in the activity of penis enlargement. So maybe "Have fun while making your dick bigger!" "Pics enclosed!" That sort of thing.

Yes, yes. You're talking about jelqing. There's no legitimate scientific evidence that it works. There is the occasional "scientist" who puts together a flawed study followed by doing testimonials for those same natural enhancement websites, but there is no independently verified research to suggest that it works.

What I find absolutely stunning about the "penis enlargement" industry is how sleazy the whole thing is. I wrote a column about this issue a while back. It's all about taking advantage of frail male egos. I remember one website that defined a small penis as anything six inches and under. Bleh.

You know as well as anyone how excited men became when Viagra was approved by the FDA. Are you honestly telling me that there is an actual scientifically proven method of getting a bigger dick that doesn't involve surgery that the mainstream pharmaceutical industry has ignored? :cash:

I don't know you well, Lee, but you seem like a nice guy and I enjoy this site very much. But "natural penis enlargement" techniques are bullcrap. :bullcrap:

Any product or site, takes advantage of the consumers mental state, thats why we constantly strive to put the hottest models on paysite tours, thats why we offer trial memberships, thats why we use enticing marketing text..... Its why we make money doing what we do
