'Porn Inspector' Pleads Guilty

A Longmont man who posed as a police "porn inspector" in hopes of nabbing photos from an adult novelty store last year was sentenced Friday to two years' probation, according to the Boulder Daily Camera.

Andrew Libby, 34, visited the Mile High Emporium in July and tried to confiscate pornographic DVDs in the belief he was uncovering a child porn ring, his attorney told a Boulder district judge. Libby told clerks at the store he was a member of the Longmont police "age verification unit." No such unit exists in the Longmont Police Department.

His lawyer, Kristi Sanders, said Libby suffers from a mental disorder. Prosecutors agreed and dropped several charges against him, stipulating he undergo mental-health treatment.

Libby pleaded guilty to felony impersonation of a peace officer and was sentenced to two years' probation, according to the Camera.
