Have to 'pre-authorize' affiliate signups by email/icq?

It kind of makes having a webmaster referral program useless as nobody promoting the program is going to be credited with affiliate signups because the traffic isnt actually able to signup without sending their details by email to the program owner $0.02

i think you may be talking about us....actually when you click on the webmaster referral link you get tracked in our nats system and as long as you actually signup within 30 days the referring affiliate will get credit for your signup, and we check new affiliate applications every day so the turnaround is usually no more than 12 to 24 hours.
