A lot of things have bothered me lately. In a recent thread I said I was offended by predominantly straight affiliate programs that provide very little respect to their gay content.
The latest thing to outrage me is an online game content plug-in for adult websites in which the player guns down prostitutes for points.
Being offended so often has me wondering -- where do you draw the moral line in your work? Often times we are offended, but we suck it up and go on. Other times it violates our sense of moral
Lee and I, for example, disagreed in another thread about the marketing of penis enlargement products. I believe I referred to those that deal in that trade as "glorified snake oil peddlers", something I am sure Lee did not appreciate. Someone else in turn stated their belief that my peddling porn sites is little better. And as a former escort, I know that my work offended many. Many of you, I know, won't market Eastern European twink porn sites for moral reasons as much as legal concerns. And we're all irritated by the volumes of spam that arrive in our e-mail boxes, to say nothing for the viruses that infect our computers from time to time.
Not that I would, but creating a computer virus or sending spam on a massive level are beyond my means. But promoting male enhancement products is something I could do if I so chose. I won't though, because it crosses the line of my personal moral sensibilities.
My question to you is: Where do you draw the moral line in your work?
