News:Conficker Worm: Expect New Attack April 1

The Conficker worm that has wreaked havoc on millions of computers around the globe is set for a new development April 1 when it blasts out update requests to hundreds or thousands of its 50,000 domains. Rumor has it that the Conficker worm -- also known as Downadu -- is set to come alive on April 1, April Fool's Day, and bloggers speculate that the result could range from forced downloads of malicious code to even more spam hitting users' inboxes. Yet how exactly the Conficker worm will evolve remains to be seen. Conficker's latest variant -- Version C -- infected copious networks via peer-to-peer communications. It also added numerous defensive measures designed to evade detection and removal by disabling Windows Automatic Updates and Windows Security Center. Version C also blocks access to several security vendors' Web sites and renders numerous antivirus products useless, all while cranking up the number of domains it can check for updates.(3/26)

Ive seen a few news stories about this, looks like it could be a very serious attack if it is in fact true and not someone priming us for an April fools early.

get your windows updated and patched (the security flaw that conficker attacks was patched back in Oct last year by MS). Also make sure you scan your PCs with anti-malware and anti-virus programs at least once a week. I recommend Avast AntiVirus (free) and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (also free), or do an online scan via http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ or at the websites of most of the top antivirus companies.
