sites like cam4.com and others, you can make an account with just any e-mail , no age verification or anything then broadcast your penis to the world, and anyone can watch, again no age verification. and some of the guys on there are 18 or probally younger ? am i missing something here? whats up with this , as we struggle to verify and double document everyone and check that visitors to our sites are 18 or older. ?

I suppose they expect to escape prosecution. Perhaps they are in a backwater jurisdiction. Cam4.com has a private domain registration.

cam4 has no age verification period. just wants a user name and an e-mail thats it to broadcast, to watch you dont need anything.

Chad, I think the big concern with cam4.com is that the amateur webcam performers do not provide any age verification. 18 USC 2257 and related regulations apply to these performers.

I wondered about this also. There have been a few cam models there that as soon as I saw them I clicked away quickly because I expected the FBI to knock down my door and accuse me of watching CP.

Having said that, don't models on cam4 become eligible to win cash awards if they are the most popular? At that point they must have to provide some kind of age verification.

Here is what they say under their HELP section which is the only mention of age I have found. Clearly all profiles state that the guy is at least 18 years of age but just as clearly they do not actually verify it prior to allowing the person to "broadcast" his cam on the site:

"Broadcaster Ban
Broadcasters are banned for the following reasons

Illegal activity � underage performers, etc.

Advertising other cam websites (it is ok to advertise your personal URLs)
*
Broadcasting videos
*
Static images for long period of time

A broadcaster ban can last 1 day, 1 month or be permanent depending on the infraction. Multiple occurrences of the same infraction after being warned will result in a longer ban."

So if you can be banned for being an underage performer BUT they do not verify age that is clearly meaningless!

Yet people still go on the site and perform on and promote it for the owners despite the obvious legal implications of doing so.

by not monitoring/censoring they think they act like an ISP where they aren't responsible for the actions of their users? :uhoh:
