starting some blogs

I am sure this has been covered already multiple times but I have been going thru old post and cannot seem to get a consensus -- I know about wordpress - my partner hates it- what is the best and cheapest way to start our blogs so they will look decent and then we can fancy them up later-- thanks - trey

Depending on what your business model is going to be for the blogs you might want to check out Blogs Organizer, you wont even have to install any blog scripts if you use that to run your blogs

Im using it right now for about 60 blogs and absolutely love it.

Wordpress is free after all, so no cost there. In my opinion, it is the most robust blogging platform out there. Also the easiest and most editable. I've been using it since the 2nd version of it came out. Many moons ago....

Trey -- if you put together a blog for your affiliates to use (the RSS feed part of it, rigged out with a tracking code) then you can't promote other people's sites on it also, as they don't get credit for any sales to other sponsors. An Affiliate Feed would be just posts with images or vid clips about the models on YOUR site only.

As Lee mentioned early on, the Blog Organizer is exactly what you would need to create multiple blogs for yourself (and promote anyone you wish with) as well as creating another blog to promote only your program that could be hooked up with the Blog Organizer with Affiliate Module. You literally build the blogs using the program, and manage all aspects of it from one admin panel. Designs are all HTML. (www.cravebears.com was built in BO)

No installs of Wordpress are necessary (the program could help manage those blogs if you have them, but you can't run an affiliate coded rss feed from one). Money may be tight, but running Nats, or CCBtools, or Morph Feeds ... will run a lot more than the one time purchase price of the BO program.

Write it down as a necessary marketing business expense and sock away some cash towards buying it, and put out your blog(s) the right way in a few months instead of rigging up something now, and having to redo a lot of work later to have the blog usable as an affiliate tool.

Thanks Bec for all the advice -- We will not be promoting sales to our site - I think I did not make it clear - we are an affiliate for other ( free site) we just want to drive people to our site - and run blogs promoting the programs that we promot already. Bec - one more question ( this will tell how much of a newbie I still am) I looked at blog organizer and it says I need a server with certain requirements - and it can only be loaded to one domain - is there a service where I can rent server space that you know of from one of the people on this forum. - thanks again - trey
