You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

What Would You Say The 'Average' Industry Conversion Ratio Was?

Without taking in to account types of traffic, how adult affiliate webmasters promote sites, the niche, site design or processor, what would you say the average conversion ratio was industry wide right now?

    Regards,

    Lee

Somewhere between 1:300 and 1:600 with quality sponsors.

Of course, there are also sponsors with 1:1200+. Or 1:3500. Or worse.

I think it's a hard question to answer, because you might have program A which has a hundred affiliates mostly promoting on TGP/MGP and similar, and program B which has affiliates promoting mostly with blogs, freesites, etc.

Program A might have average conversion of 1:2000 and program B might have 1:300

Then again, if a program has a $1 trial, it's very possible they might have 1:50 conversion.

Our conversion rate, all april average, was 1 in 404, taking into acount only new suscriptions, not recurring. I.e., we sold one suscription for every 404 unique visitors.

I think it sucks, I'm obsessed on taking it to 1:300

If you feel like doing it, why don't you share your own rate of conversions with the board?

If it helps any, my newer blog is currently at 1:321 on unique clicks, original sign-ups. That has also been the average, give or take 100.

Most of those conversions are with the same few sponsors, who also happen to be the better known sites out there.

I find it hard to answer this thread without taking into account the traffic source. A site may convert at 1:50 when you start off with search engine traffic that is filtered through a good quality hub. And that exact same site may convert at 1:10,000 on pure TGP traffic.

I don't mind sharing ratios on the forum as lots of affiliates share this stuff privately anyways.
In July overall ratio for affiliate sales were 1:438
The best affiliate ratio was 1:38 and the lowest ratio was 1:1839 although the affiliate with the 1:1839 made the most sales for the month.

My best month so far in 2009 was June with an overall ratio of 1:277

Affiliates with the best ratios and most sales in order are:
    - Review sites (even crappy reviews make sales somehow)
    - Blogs
    - Free sites
    - TGPs

BTW - A very public THANK YOU to Bec and Patti who provided feedback that I used to change my tour and join page in February. Click to sales ratios have improved greatly since the switch.
