Do You Think Script Driven Sites Are Less Personable?

When it comes to webmasters primarily using scripts to build and maintain their websites, do you think that more often than not, these types of sites appear to be less personable to the surfers viewing them?

Ive just been having a pretty good conversation with Brandon about this and he was saying how he found most sites that relied on scripts to handle their front and backends always seemed to be less interesting to him as they seemed very 'medical' in appearance and writing style.

Do you think he is right in his assumption?

well you can put personality into sites run by scripts - it just requires a whole lot of work to write up all the personality and make sure it match the stuff the script posts...

i normally go for automation as i am not that good a writer and dont want to chase people away with my crappy text or god forbid my personality which is worse than my spelling

You're not giving yourself enough credit. I wasn't scared away by your post here, so why would I be scared away from your writing anywhere else?

If part of your script allows members to log in, then you can refer to them by name (or nickname), and you can make personal suggestions based on their stated profile preferences (likes vs dislikes) as to blonde, twink, jock, US, European, etc.
