Bit of a question, really, and I would appreciate input on it from my esteemed colleagues. Do you think it would be worthwhile to start up a mobile section on GWWM? :cheekymonkey:

To be honest bud i dont think it would be worth it, there doesnt seem to be much interest industry wide in mobile related porn so itd just be a dead section.

Funny, I was just having this discussion with the background peeps of some other board.

One person was really into it, some were interested, some thought it unlikely to draw any interest.

I don't use a smartphone, so I don't see it as interesting, but those who do use them are evangelical about them.

To put it in to context...

A couple of years back there were a few people who suggested opening a legal section on GWW, i said at the time it wouldnt work because, whilst it sounds like a good idea and a lot of people said they would 100% post on a legal section, i knew that what the reality was meant it would not work.

Right after i publicly stated this, 2 other boards launched a legal forum, and for the first few days, posts were happening however, it soon became apparent that interest in those sections of the board dwindled and they either got merged with the general boards or were left to rot.

The problem is, a lot of webmasters while they will publicly say that they are interested in something, the reality of it is, they are just saying what you want them to say or what they think the 'popular' opinion is at the time.

The same is true for a blogging forum, there was a lot of interest in a blogging section a few years back, other boards have them, but again, they are simply not as busy as they were supposed to be when everyone said 'yes ill post on a blogging section' what happens is you get 4 or 5 people regularly posting and thats it.

Again, a lot of people also said having a forum specifically for 'buying and selling' would be a great thing that would get used by them, again though, other boards have this and less than 0.5% of their posts are made in that section.

Whilst compartmentalizing information is a great thing, there comes a point when it becomes overkill and it actually detracts from the overall effectiveness of a community, im sure there are current sections on GWW that many of you dont even visit, even though they are 'general' in their categories, hosting, content, tech, etc... Most people who register for a board spend 99.99% of their time on the general section and i see the stats from the last 5+ years on GWW to prove this.

that could be interesting to have i dont see this type of thing on any other board at the minute so i think it would be something good to use as a place of information
