Movie Encoding Question - Black Screen At Start And End Of Scene?

Does anyone know of a program that will allow me to put a 1 second black screen at the beginning and at the end of a DVD scene as it is being encoded?

Right now im basically just starting and ending the 'actual' scene with no type of transition to let the surfer know the vid is starting or ending but im wanting to have a second or two of dark screen to signal the start and end of each scene to make them more 'friendly' in terms of letting the surfer know primarily when they are ending.

Any of you folks that deal with movie content know of a program that will let me do this?

I'm confused. You are not rendering the video yourself maybe?

Any video editing program would allow you to put a black screen in. Sony Vegas is good and there are full trial versions on their site.

What im doing right now is taking a DVD, encoding it, then splitting it in to scenes.

When its being split, each scene basically starts and stops, with no transition, i want to be able to put a 1 second dark screen at the beginning and end of these scenes once they have been split from the original fully encoded DVD movie.

Well without knowing the software or how you are doing it, its hard.

When you are splitting the scenes, why don't you join a black 1 second video to the front and back??

You could use asftools to that even afterwards.

Ive actually been playing with Sorenson but cant see the option to do what i want, any idea what it would be called bud?

Squeeze doesn't. Its not much of an editor.

Nothing, ive always used Sorenson.
