    Important Changes for GUYSonVIDEO.com Affiliates

After nearly seven years of operating GUYSonVIDEO.com primarily as a pay site, we will be taking the site in a new direction beginning July 15th, 2009. As of that date, we will no longer be taking subscribers through GUYSonVIDEO.com. All future pay site content production will be geared toward our long time best converting site, BarebackPlace.com.

Please use the next few weeks to redirect links that point to the GUYSonVIDEO.com pay site tour (GUYSonVIDEO.com/warning.htm & GUYSonVIDEO.com/tour/), and any links pointed to our hosted galleries & hosted FLV files. We strongly encourage you to send this traffic to BarebackPlace.com as the same content on that domain has proven to convert more than 5 times better than when accessed on GUYSonVIDEO.com.

Beginning July 15th, we will redirect any remaining GUYSonVIDEO.com affiliate traffic to BarebackPlace.com. Any sales generated will be automatically credited to the referring affiliate.

Existing subscribers will continue to have access to the shared member's area of GUYSonVIDEO.com & BarebackPlace.com. Rebills will continue to be credited to the originating affiliate for as long as the subscriber remains.

We'd like to thank you for promoting GUYSonVIDEO.com over the years and hope you will continue to promote BarebackPlace.com now and in the future.

Its good you have notified your affiliates of these changes way in advance of what most programs do however, i really cant help thinking that closing down an income generating paysite and turning it in to something else, that right now is unproven, isnt really a solid business move.

If you want to do this because you want to use the domain for something else, why not try finding an alternate domain name?

If you are concerned with having to continually update the site with content, why not just put your existing content on recycle and every few weeks automatically cycle through your existing sets?

Im sure you have a good reason for choosing to close the paysite for affiliates but to me, it just doesnt make any sense right now, you have a site that is generating income, closing that revenue stream because you want to take the site in a new direction surely cant be the only option you have?

    Regards,

Alternately, you could just turn it into an archive website. It's one in which you freely acknowledge up front that the content is no longer update. You remove recurring memberships and offer a bit of a discount on regular one-time memberships. People will still be able to access all of the regular content that way. Be sure to stress that customer service is still provided and the website has not been abandoned.

We have many archive websites listed on GayGeek, although most take great pains to hide the fact that they are no longer updated. Alternately, they are turned into "bonus sites" available for access by people that join another site in the network.
