HIV Ban - Action Needed!

We're almost there. Earlier today, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued regulations which, when implemented, will mean the end of the HIV travel and immigration ban. The regulations come more than a year after Senator John Kerry, Congresswoman Barbara Lee and former Senator Gordon Smith successfully led Congress to end America's longstanding discrimination against people living with HIV and AIDS who want to visit, and live in, the United States.

Immigration Equality has been proud to stand with our allies in Washington and lead the grassroots effort to see the HIV ban toppled once and for all. Now, at long last, the end is in sight. What seemed impossible a few years ago is now very possible indeed.

There is one more step, though, before the prohibition is gone, and you can be part of the historic effort to end the ban. For the next 45 days, HHS will make the proposed regulations available for public comment. You can weigh in, in support of these important regulations, by becoming a co-signer of Immigration Equality's comment.

that is a little bit strange that they are wanting to end the hiv ban but not any other restrictions when coming to america using this method why is hiv the only part of coming in to america that they are truing to have ended what about people with criminal convictions like drink driving or drug offences or the other stupid rules they have

all i know when regan was in office they didn't have a clue on how to stop it, and they thought by stopping people from coming into the country would stop it.
