Hold around 100gigs and is really light as i need one that i can send to our hosting company that isnt going to cost a fortune every time we have a heap of pics/movies for them to load on to our server.
Do you folks have any suggestions on such an external hard drive? One that has a large capacity, has a USB connection and is actually really light?

I have to say Lee that I have had the worse luck with externals. I have had I'd say 8 in about 2 years. They crash and burn on me fast and hard.
I've had seagates and western digitals.
I wish I could be more helpful, but I am sorta sour on the externals.
I will say I have a seagate now that *knock on wood* has lasted the longest thus far...its a 160gigger.

There are USB Flash drives/keys out now that go up to 128GB. Little pricey still. 64GB are better priced.

Just use the flat rate available at the US Post office ... if it fits in the box, they ship it for one flat rate, regardless of the weight.
the 64gb usb flash drives are really coming down in price, why not go with 2 of them? totally light weight and less likely to be damaged in shipping.
hrmmm....the 32GB ones are even cheaper now, you could even go with 3 x 32GB flash sticks
