Waste of a GOOD Domain Name

I don't know how often it happens to others, but I get so frustrated when looking to pickup a good domain name, not only to find it is taken but horrendously "abused"! (cyber squatting basically)

Sheesh people, there are whitelabel sites you can put on there and at least make some coin!

Anyone else finding this on a domain name you'd like to have?

its not a waste if the owner's whole reason for purchasing is to resell it later, just the opposite...its sitting around collecting value

But if it's live, and just sitting there without relative keyword usage for the domain, does it really give it additional value?

some good points here and I am agreed I would think a site would be worth more if it had something on it ( similar to a house on a property! ) , I will confess I think I own of a couple of those "misused" sites , they did have a purpose in the beginnning but since everything is pretty much "niche" now they were just too "broad" to fill! ( interpreted: ..."there can only be one Amen Ra .. err .. badpuppy! )

Yeah I think although it's frustrating to see a domain that you could be doing something with, the person who owns the domain might be in the domaining game with thousands of other domains. If this is the case then perhaps time spent acquiring new domains and selling others might pay off better than attempting to develop a domain and make money from it. Just ask Frank Schilling!
