You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?
Has 'Exclusive Content' Killed Creativity Of Niches?
I was just reading a thread over at GayDemon that Patti started asking why there were not many gay spanking sites, to which Bec replied there was no content unless it was shot exclusively.
Do you think that over the past few years, as exclusive content has become more and more prevallent, those providers that used to create sets for Ounique and other brokers have stopped producing a wider range of non-exclusive content making it harder for webmasters to 'experiment' with niches before having to invest a few thousand dollars buying content, etc?
I know the past few years i have actually found it harder and harder to test micro niches now that it appears a lot of providers are focusing on their exclusive shooting for clients.
Do you think that we're going to start seeing more duplication of existing niches over the next few years until companies begin to realize that exclusive content isnt the be all and end all of online porn and start producing random niche photo sets again for the brokerage companies?
I honestly cant think of any site niches that have been tested thoroughly over the past few years that didnt involve exclusive content and, when it was discovered these niches were not profitable, the sites stopped updating.
What are your thoughts, have we become to focused on 'exclusive content' that we're actually negatively affecting the creativity when it comes to niches we could be promoting?

Lee

Makes it hard to test new ideas. Even if you can find enough at Ounique to put something together, you get smaked upside the head by other webmasters because it's OLD content, not exclusive, yada yadda ...

I Giggle Like A Girl Every Time I Hear The Word 'Watersports'
i do not think it has killed it at all but i do wish that there was more content for some types of site it would make things a lot cheaper

Morals...what morals?
Some niches are inherently more costly to produce for - and I get the feeling many niche producers are weary of seeing their expensive/exclusive content ending up on too many illegal tube sites.
Niche content is still selling well (at least for us) - and I think it's partly because we've kept it fairly exclusive and not in wide circulation.
I look at big producers like Kink.com and although they produce excellent content - their overall affiliate sales have dropped dramatically in the past two years or so. This may be partially due to the overwhelming amount of content they make available everywhere.
