    Howto: Manually add Domain To DNS?

    Hi,

    I would like to know how I would MANUALLY add a domain to an DNS.
    Anybody.... Anybody... Anybody...

    I am searching for 6 hrs now and the only thing I could find was "cname records" - that can't be it

    So guys... help me out here

    I'm not sure exactly what you're asking... are you talking about how to physically add it to BIND or whatever nameserver you're running, or how to add something to an existing nameserver listing?

    It's been a while since I've done it, but it is fairly easy to add the appropriate A and MX records to BIND if that's what you're running... if you give me more info, I can probably at least point you in the right direction.

    hey chip

    Yes... I am looking to physically add a new domain name to a DNS so that the domain gets resolved to the appropriate server (lets say example.com should resolve to 50.100.150.200, mailexchanges are irrelevant).
    Also how are subdomains handled?

    I need to know how to do it manually cuz later I want to do it with a (shell) script.

    now I need DNS servers / hoster with DNS servers which lets me add domains via an API or WebInterface.
